In honor of Pride Month, The Goddess and Grocer is once again donating a portion of their Goddess Rainbow Cake sales to Center on Halsted, a community center dedicated to advancing community and securing the health and well-being of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) people of Chicagoland. More than 1,000 community members visit the Center every day, located in the heart of Chicago's Lakeview Neighborhood.
$1 per slice ($7), $8 per 8 inch cake ($60 / serves 12-15)), and $10 per 10 inch cake ($80 / serves 20) will be donated throughout June 2021. All orders must be placed 48 hours in advance. Cakes can be picked up for free at any Goddess and Grocer location. The Goddess Rainbow Cake features six layers of rainbow-colored cake with vanilla buttercream frosting and decorated with colored sprinkles.
Goddess is also offering a savory option that is tied to a donation too, Rainbow Salmon Skewers ($15 with $1 dollar donated).
PB&J (West Loop)
In honor of Pride, West Loop hotspot, PB&J, is offering diners two specialty cocktails to sip on while listening to tunes from the Jukebox. For those looking for a boozy brunch, PB&J has their new Fruit Loops, Pancake, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch brunch shots. Additionally, guests can order cocktails and signature pizzas, sandwiches, and other offerings on the patio or inside.
Stan’s Donuts & Coffee (Multiple Locations)
The Chicago staple, Stan’s Donuts, are bringing their Pride donuts back this June to celebrate Pride Month. The vanilla-rainbow glazed cake donut will be available through all 14 of Stan’s locations in Chicago. With two stores located in the Boystown area, the Stan’s Pride Donut makes for a sweet treat for those celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. The pride donuts will be available beginning June X. Stan’s donuts also ships nationwide on Goldbelly, allowing for Pride pastries to be sent to friends and family across the country this season.
Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel Chicago
While planning your weekend around Chicago’s Pride in the Park, mark your calendars for a drag show. Four performers will offer a mix of colorful costumes, music and dancing on the second floor of FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar at Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel. A pre-event celebration to the festivities happening later in the day at Grant Park, the show on June 26 includes brunch and refreshing cocktails.
The Dearborn
In the Loop, The Dearborn is offering guests treats all month long including a Fruity Semifreddo Pop and Rainbow Dust cocktail that features edible glitter. Fruity Semifreddo Pops feature layers of pineapple, raspberry, and orange semifreddo. Which are then dipped in a white chocolate rainbow magic shell. The "Rainbow Dust" cocktail features Hanger 1 Rose, Cherry Liqueur, Cocchi Americano, Mint Syrup, Lime, and is served with edible glitter garnish. The Dearborn is also LGBTQ-owned.
Farm Bar
Put your money towards a local LGBTQ+ organization when dining at Farm Bar in Lakeview. Throughout the month of June, 20% of proceeds from your bill every Tuesday will go to Brave Space Alliance. This is part of Farm Bar's Giving Back Tuesday activation, where they select a local charity each month to donate Tuesday proceeds to.
Gadabout (Andersonville)
In honor of Pride Month, pastry chef Meg Pedersen will be creating desserts with proceeds being donated to Howard Brown's Broadway Youth Center.
The Godfrey Hotel Chicago & I|O Godfrey (River North)
The hotel in River North offers various ways to celebrate including an overnight package and a Rainbow Sangria at its rooftop and lounge, I|O Godfrey. The colorful Rainbow Sangria is made with frozen fruit granita, Van Gogh melon vodka, and a splash of Caposaldo Moscato. The cocktail is available by the glass ($15) or pitcher-style ($52) for sharing and can be paired with a variety of seasonal plates crafted by Executive Chef Alfonso Martinez.
