What's Happenging: in Ravenswood: Patios, Pretzel Blitz, Taste of Italy & More!

From pretzel-making classes to new beer releases and a taste of Italy, there is a lot to enjoy in the neighborhood this summer.

Upcoming Events:

- Join Malt Row for its next virtual Hoppy Hour this Thursday, July 23rd. Begyle, Dovetail, Empirical, and Spiteful will be talking about their new patios and favorite beers to drink while outside. There's a $5 suggested donation. Reserve your spot here. 
- Pretzel Blitz at DANK Haus is back Fridays through August 21st! Learn how to make pretzels in-person or from your home. Classes can host up to 8 students and will be broadcast via Zoom for anyone joining virtually. Class times vary each week. Registration is $30 for in-person attendance and $10 for virtual. Sign up here. 

Patios & Special Menus:

- Carol's Pub has a NEW sidewalk cafe! Open Thursdays & Fridays from 4pm - 11pm and Saturdays & Sundays from 12pm - 11pm, reservations are recommended but not required. Witness live music and entertainment that helped make Carol's Pub the oldest Honky Tonky in Chicago.
- Empirical Brewery's outdoor patio space is open. They took old parking spaces and turned them into a (mostly) shaded beer garden. The Beer Garden is table service only and available on a first-come, first-serve basis for 90-minutes per group Tuesdays - Sundays from 12pm - 8pm. Empirical also released two new beers this summer. The Gamma Ray is an American Wheat brewed with fresh ginger, lime zest, and peppercorns. The one-time-only beer, New Style Lager, is an American Light Lager meant to be shared with friends. It's available in 6-packs of cans while supplies last. Proceeds are donated back to the community.
- River Valley Farmer's Table expanded their patio. With 13 additional seats, they're welcoming as many guests as possible while still maintaining safe distancing requirements. Prix fixe dinners Friday & Saturday evenings prepared by Chef Jeremy Kiens highlighting the ingredients from their farmers. Seats are at 6pm and 8pm and available to reserve here. 
- ATaste of Italy at Tuscan Hen Market through September 22nd! Each week, find a new menu inspired by different regions throughout Italy. The menu is offered al fresco on Tuscan Hen's back patio. See the upcoming menu and make a reservation here.
