At Brasero, Executive Chef John Manion's passion for live-fire cooking is at the heart of every dish. Inspired by his childhood experiences in São Paulo, where the flavors of Brazil captured his imagination, Chef Manion has crafted a menu that marries South American culinary traditions with a Midwestern sensibility.
Guests can choose the full omakase experience, led by sushi chef Shoji Takahashi, at the 10-seat sushi counter, featuring fish and ingredients from Japan. Additionally, they will be offering a special $175 omakase menu at the Izakaya-style bar for Valentine’s Day. Guests can choose from a curated selection of sake, wine, beer, Japanese whiskies, or chilled Japanese tea.
Wicker Park and Bucktown
Manchamanteles is using romance novel-turned-movie “Like Water for Chocolate” to inspire their Valentine’s Day dinner. Throughout the story, protagonist Tita’s emotions are expressed through the food she prepares, and Chef Geno has created a menu inspired by Tita’s favorite dishes. This will include Quail in a rose petal sauce, oxtail soup, and a foamy Mexican hot chocolate known as Chocolate Mexicana. Manchamanteles will also offer their regular menu as well, you can make Valentine’s Day reservations on Tock.
The Robey offers three in-house restaurants and bars with special Valentine’s Day offerings. At all-day brunch spot Cafe Robey, all diners will be given complementary chocolates with their meal on Valentine’s Day. From February 12-16, 90’s inspired bar Clever Coyote and rooftop bar The Up Room will offer festive Valentine’s Day cocktails. Valedor, the Japanese-Latin fusion bar located next door to The Robey will also offer a special lychee martini during Valentine’s Day week. This Valentine’s Day, Tievoli Pizza Bar is celebrating with heart-shaped pizzas. In honor of Valentine’s Day and the restaurant’s second anniversary, all pizzas are available in heart shapes upon request, exclusively on February 14. Tievoli’s menu showcases 13 varieties of pizzas crafted with quality, fresh ingredients and a fermented 72-hour dough. For gluten-free diners, Tievoli offers all pizzas with a gluten-free crust, made using Caputo Gluten Free Flour imported from Naples and a 48-hour fermented dough.
This Valentine’s Day weekend, Bar Siena North Shore will host FABIO LIVE!, a four-course dinner and live cooking demonstration with celebrity chef Fabio Viviani, on Sunday, Feb. 16, from 5–7 p.m. Priced at $79 per person, the experience includes the four-course meal, cooking demonstration, and a meet-and-greet with Chef Viviani. An optional wine tasting curated by Siena’s sommelier can be added to enhance the experience. Additional items, such as à la carte dishes, Fabio's cookbook, and wine pairings, are also available.
