Tutore Cooking School, founded by chefs Dean Zanella and James De Marte, will be hosting three pasta making classes this Labor Day weekend in which 100% of proceeds will be donated directly to the families that have been displaced by the Maui wildfires.
More specifically, the funds from this class will aid the restaurant staff at Chef Peter Marriman’s Big Island Restaurant in Waimea where 78 staff members lost their homes and apartments due to the fires that have devastated the region. Peter Merriman served as a mentor to Chef Zanella when he worked at Merriman's Big Island, making this an important cause at Tutore.
The three classes are available August 31, September 1 and September 2 and include recipes such as Risotto, Pasta 101 and Gnocchi classes. Class registration is available on Tuture’s website. Additionally, Tutore Cooking School is sharing Waimea’s GoFundMe page for all those interested in voting.
