May is AAPI Awareness Month, a time dedicated to recognizing the contributions and influence of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community to the history, culture, and achievements in the U.S. This month, Travelle at The Langham in Chicago is doing its part to support the AAPI community.

Travelle’s Chef de Cuisine, Qi Ai, is of Asian descent and is originally from Beijing, China. Two of Chef Qi’s menu items, Pork Belly Banh Mi Sandwich and Pork Belly entrée, are both dishes she brought to Travelle, as a nod to her Asian heritage and favorite dishes growing up.

In an effort to honor AAPI Awareness Month and the wonderful advancements of Asian Americans here in the U.S., Travelle is donating 10 percent of each dish’s proceeds to Stop AAPI Hate, a coalition addressing anti-Asian hate amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
