On Sunday, April 15, Chef John Tesar and Chef Katsuji Tanabe will come together in Chicago to host the first annual "Katsuji's Kitchen," a live cooking demonstration at Barrio. Tickets to the event are available for $85 and, keeping in charitable tradition, 20% of ticket sales will be donated to The Facial Pain Research Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to finding a cure for trigeminal neuralgia, a neuropathic disorder.
From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., the creative duo will entertain the crowd as they banter back and forth, preparing a 5-course dinner with dishes like roasted chili mango salsa, cornbread, yellowtail ceviche, grassfed barbacoa tacos, and churros. Guests will have the option to purchase a $25 Casamigos tequila and mezcal margarita flight to pair with their meal as they indulge in each dish prepared by the competing chefs. After the dinner, Chef Tanabe and Chef Tesar will available for photos, questions, and mingling with the crowd.
