Three Dots and a Dash have announced the launch of Tokyo Last Call, a Japanese-inspired listening bar concept series. In collaboration with four Japanese cocktail bars, Beverage Director Kevin Beary and Bar Manager Scott Kitsmiller aim to transport guests to Japan’s cocktail scene without having to leave Chicago.

“Our goal with Tokyo Last Call is to create a fully immersive cocktail experience that transports guests through music, drinks and atmosphere," says Three Dots and a Dash’s Beverage Director Kevin Beary. “This is a one-of-a-kind chance to taste original creations from Japan's most world-renowned bar talent in a hyper-curated space."

The team is partnering with Japanese bars from the US and Japan – Bar Trench, Katana Kitten, SG Club, and Bar Goto. The Japanese bars and guest bartenders will collaborate directly with the Three Dots and a Dash bar team. To enhance the ambiance of the listening room, music will emanate from a retro jukebox, spinning vinyl 45s carefully curated for the experience.

The event will feature a menu of six specialty cocktails utilizing spirits from Suntory's portfolio. A selection of exclusive and rare Japanese whiskeys will also be available for select pours with guided tasting led by the central US Suntory brand ambassador, Davey Jones. Each menu will be inspired by the bar’s offerings rooted in traditional techniques and flavors found in the Japanese bar scene. A selection of limited tastings will also be available. The series schedule is as follows:

  • Bar Goto: April 4-7 (Guest Bartender and Founder: Kenta Goto)

  • Katana Kitchen: April 11-14  (Guest Bartender: to be confirmed)

  • Bar Trench: April 18-21 (Guest Bartender and Founder: Rogerio Igarashi)

  • SG Club: April 25-28 (Guest Bartender and Former Beverage Director of Speak Low: Takumi Hoshi)

The series will take place at the bottom floor of 51 W Hubbard Street in River North. The bar will be open on Thursday through  Sunday from 5 pm to midnight, with reservations available early in the evening, followed by walk-ins from 9 pm to close. Reservations are available on OpenTable
