Thomas & Dutch (703 Church St., Evanston) is bringing modern Midwestern dining to Chicago’s North Shore, and is opening its doors to lunch and brunch this summer, introducing new menu options. Thomas & Dutch is now open for lunch on Thursday and Friday from 11am to 3pm and for brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm.

The lunch menu features the same Midwestern ingredients as the dinner menu, but includes lighter handheld sandwiches, salads and plates. Menu items include the Grilled Portobello Sandwich layered with beets, pickled red onion, fennel slaw and aioli, the Parisian Hot Dog, Chef Martin’s Hot Dog with gruyere, dijon on a baguette, or the Beet Salad served with a pistachio pesto, goat cheese and rye toast.

The weekend brunch menu focuses on Thomas & Dutch’s usage of their family farm, Brown Dog Farm in Southwestern Wisconsin, featuring a number of honey-focused dishes for a morning meal. Menu items include the Griddled Peanut Butter and Honey French Toast, brioche french toast with Brown Dog Farm honey, seasonal jam and maple syrup, the Dutch’s Melt made with Mangalitsa pork patty, griddled onions, gruyere on rye, and the chef’s special Quiche.
