On January 22, The Press Room will kick off its Chef Residency program on Sunday evenings. Designed to help Chicago-area chefs that don't have a brick-and-mortar, emerging chefs can use the West Loop wine bar as their home away from home. Chef Jordan Dominguez will be the first to step into The Press Room’s kitchen and offer diners Sushi Sundays. Born and raised in Chicago, Chef Jordan produces tasting menus influenced by fish from Japan and fresh produce from Chicago. Sushi Sundays will feature two multi-course tasting menus that rotate weekly: an Omakase Experience with 12-15 luxury sushi courses and a Kaiseki Experience featuring an 8-course traditional Japanese meal. Over the next few weeks, diners can choose from two seatings on Sunday evenings at 5:30 PM or 7:30 PM. Each seating will accompany 10 guests and last an hour and a half. Diners can experience the tasting menu for $150 per person. For those looking to enhance their experience, guests can add beverage pairings for $60 per person, which includes two glasses of wine, one specialty cocktail, and one sake. Seats can be purchased on Tock.
