After more than two long years, the Museum of Contemporary Art has announced the opening of Marisol. The Michelin Bib Gourmand-awarded full-service restaurant, located at 205 East Pearson Street, Chicago, 60611 has reopened to the public.

The restaurant offers a weekday lunch and weekend brunch service, with dinner service coming soon.

Marisol and the museum MCA Chicago are welcoming back Jason Hammel, winner of the James Beard Best Restaurant in 2022 and James Beard Awards-Best Chef Nominee. Hammel also owns Lula Café in Chicago’s Logan Square community.

“I am honored to rejoin the Marisol team after two long years. Our new menu features some favorite Marisol dishes like the sunflower hummus along with a collection of new seasonal items designed in collaboration with the creative team, reflecting the energy and spirit of this spring.” Jason Hammel, Marisol’s Consulting Chef.

Marisol, located on the ground floor of the museum, serves weekday lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and weekend brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The restaurant’s private dining room is also now available for rental.

“Marisol is a unique spot in the neighborhood. It can be your daily coffee shop, for a pastry or a simple lunch, or an art-filled destination for a creative meal and drinks, surrounded by an immersive art environment designed by Chris Ofili,” Hammel said.

The Counter, MCA’s more casual dining option and takeaway spot, is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on all other days. Both Marisol and The Counter are closed on Monday.
