The Impossible Burger by Impossible Foods has launched at Umami Burger. The Impossible Burger is a 100% plant based burger made out of just a few ingredients: wheat, potato protein, fat from coconut oil and heme. Heme is an ingredient found in all living things and is what gives this eco-friendly burger it's meaty flavor. The making of one Impossible Burger versus a burger from a cow uses 95% less land, 87% lower greenhouse gas emissions and 74% less water. That's insane! The burger looks, cooks, smells and tastes like a regular burger.
Right now at Umami Burger, guests can contribute their love for the earth and its people by ordering Jaden's Impossible Trio. The burger chain has teamed up with singer and actor, Jaden Smith and his charity Just Water, to raise money for hurricane relief efforts with $1 from every $15 purchase going to the American Red Cross. The Trio includes three delicious sliders: The Impossible Slider topped with caramelized onions, American cheese, miso-mustard, house spread, dill pickles, lettuce and tomato; Korean BBQ Slider with gochujang glaze, caramelized kimchi, sesame aioli, Korean ketchup and scallion-cilantro salad; and Umami's U-BBQ Slider with American cheese, Umami BBQ sauce, tempura serranos and smoked salt onion strings.
Guests also have the option of ordering a full-size Impossible Burger (with a side of Umami Truffle Fries of course) with all of the delicious toppings listed above with the slider. Even meat eaters will love it!
Plus, come in Monday through Friday from 4-7pm for Umami's Happy Hour and enjoy $3 Truffle Fries, $5 glasses of wine, $4 select draft beer, $7 cocktails and $6 small bites. Offers valid at both Chicago locations.
