Enlisting the help of Chicago and Fox Valley area bars including The Violet Hour, Kumiko, Meadowlark, The Walrus Room/Alchemist, and The Lewis, Sip & Support will present an entire menu of spirit-free cocktails for a week of raising funds in the name of mental health support and sobriety awareness in the restaurant industry.

“Sobriety can be really challenging in the restaurant industry, as alcohol is often linked to restaurant workers’ livelihoods – most are either handling it, or around it on a daily basis. We want to make sure those who are interested in sobriety can find a community and resources to support them in their journey,” says Megan Curren.

The menu officially kicks off on Wednesday, September 13th when The Graceful Ordinary hosts a ticketed sunset event on their terrace overlooking the Fox River featuring passed spirit-free sippers using recipes from the participating bars, as well as N/A mixology demos from The Walrus Room/Alchemist and The Lewis, and canapes from The Graceful Ordinary’s culinary team. Following the event, the exclusive N/A drink menu will be available to all guests dining at The Graceful Ordinary until Sunday, October 1st during all services. 100% of profits from both the terrace event’s ticket sales and sales from the N/A menu throughout the week will go towards providing restaurant workers in the surrounding Fox Valley area with resources and educational materials aimed at raising awareness about mental health from Hope for the Day, a Chicago-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering the conversation on proactive suicide prevention and mental health education.

Tickets to the sunset terrace event are available on Resy and include passed canapes and tastings of the six featured nonalcoholic mocktails from the exclusive menu. Additional nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages will be available for a la carte purchase.
