Testaccio's new regional highlight series celebrates a different Italian region each month by offering dishes that encapsulate the culinary culture of each one. Proceeds from each regional dish will be donated to a different charitable cause every month, with proceeds from May's dishes benefiting Hope for the Day. For May, Culinary Director Michael Lanzerotte is offering guests the cuisine of Campania, the home of the Amalfi Coast, by serving Gnocchi alla Sorrentina made with tomato, basil, and stracciatella, and Maccaronara alla Puttanesca made with tomato, capers, olives, and artichokes. These dishes can be ordered al fresco on Testaccio's sidewalk patio along with their list of natural and amphora-made wines, selected by beverage director Joe Crivolio. Italian regions will be featured all summer long as the next spots coming to Testaccio's menu include Puglia, Sicily, Sardinia, and Toscana.
