Foodies, philanthropists, and everyone in-between can enjoy the most celebrated food in the city on October 5th when Chicago’s Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry returns, this year to a new venue: Revel Fulton Market. The annual tasting event will feature the city’s top chefs, sommeliers and mixologists united for a cause: making sure all children in this country get the healthy food they need, every day. Proceeds from the event benefit No Kid Hungry’s work to end childhood hunger in America.
At the event, guests will have the opportunity to taste signature bites from a host of the city’s most celebrated restaurants, including Blackbird, Nellcôte and Swift & Sons, while enjoying craft cocktails and spirits concocted by top mixologists. Tickets start at $125, and can be purchased online at www.nokidhungry.org/chicago.
Leading up to the main event, some of the city’s top chefs will have the opportunity to try their hand at mixology, all in support of the cause! On Wednesday, September 14 , Shaun Connolly of Presidio, Chef Rob Sidor of Bohemian House and Top Chef alumAaron Cuschieri from The Dearborn (among others to be announced soon) will take part in Chefs Behind Bars for No Kid Hungry at The Dawson (730 W Grand Ave). From 6 to 8:30pm, attendees can sip on signature drinks created by these culinary all-stars, and vote for the very best. Tickets are $45 and will be available at the door for $50, and can be purchased online at http://ce.strength.org/events/chefs-behind-bars-chicago. All proceeds will benefit No Kid Hungry.
