The Chinese New Year celebrates 2019 as the Year of the Pig, and to honor the holiday, TAO Chicago will feature a four-course pig-centric menu of their takes on traditional Chinese dishes that pay tribute to a new year of good fortune, happiness, wealth and longevity. The Chinese New Year menu is available as a prix-fixe for $85 per guest, or a la carte for dinner on Tuesday, February 5 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The coursed dinner features a sesame scallion bread topped with glazed pork belly and roasted sesame dip, black truffle and spicy pork soup dumplings, a caramelized pork chop with blood orange chow, and finishing off with a vanilla soft serve with sweet and spicy bacon.
