Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana (RMHC-CNI) will debut Culinary Hearts as part of the organization’s ‘Meals From the Heart’ program. The exclusive cooking experience focuses on offering groups a special evening preparing meals in the RMH kitchen with notable chefs from Chicago restaurants.

For the inaugural Culinary Hearts experience on September 10th, RMHC-CNI supporters will cook alongside Executive Chef Mathew Smith of Steak 48 to prepare a steakhouse dinner for the nearly 140 family members staying at the Ronald McDonald House (211 E. Grand Avenue) near Lurie Children’s Hospital.

The afternoon’s menu, available from 11am to 1pm, will feature items such as Braised Pork Belly, 8 oz Filet Mignon, Chef’s Au Gratin Potatoes, Mini Caramel Cakes and more. This culinary experience is also made possible by a generous donation from Steak 48’s meat purveyor, Meats by Linz, who donated all the steaks and meat for the event.
