St. Patrick’s Day pop-up Charm’d has officially returned to Wrigleyville. The pop-up re-opened February 10th at Deuce’s (3505 N Clark Street).
Deuce’s is the team behind other pop-ups like Santa Baby, Rudolph’s, Nightmare on Clark Street, and Major League Bar, and they’re back with Charm’d, multi-room, multi-level Irish experience featuring wall-to-wall Irish decor, lucky charms, multiple bars, social photo-ops and a whole lot of leprechaun mischief.
Additionally, Charm’d will be hosting a few spring floral workshops on Tuesday, March 1 and Tuesday, March 15 from 6pm-8pm.

INGREDIENTS:
4 slices of bacon, diced 4 ounces butter 1.5 cups yellow onion, diced medium 2 garlic cloves, minced 3 cups red potato, diced large 1 tbsp flour 2 cups whole milk 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream 1 2/3 cups clam juice 10 ounces cod filet, cut into large pieces 10 ounces salmon filet, cut into large pieces 8 ounces shrimp, peeled and deveined 3 ounces crab meat Parsley and chives to garnish
DIRECTIONS:
Saute diced bacon in a large pot until brown and slightly crispy. Remove bacon but leave fat. Add the butter to the bacon fat and melt. Add the onion, celery, and garlic and sweat in the butter until soft. Add the potato and cook for a couple minutes. Stir in the flir and cook for one more minute to make a roux. Add the milk, cream, and clam juice and bring to a boil while constantly stirring. Once the soup is boiling it will get thick. Add the cod, salmon, and shrimp. Return to a boil then simmer slowly until the fish is cooked. Turn the heat off and gently stir in the bacon and crab meat. Ladle into bowls and garnish with chopped parsley and chives.

Irish Pork Stew and Vegetables
Ingredients:
• 4 to 5pounds bone-in pork shoulder • Cut of meat in to cubes • 1/4 cup all purpose flour • 2 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt • 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper • 3 tablespoons canola oil • 3 medium yellow onions chopped (about 5 cups) • 1cup pound brown or butt mushrooms quartered • 1 tablespoon caraway seeds • 2 cups Irish Beer any brean • 2 cups chicken broth • 2 Dried bay leaves • 4 carrots peeled and sliced about 1/4" thick • 1 pound Yukon Gold or small red potatoes quartered • 1/4 cup chopped Italian flat leaf parsley • 1 teaspoon cumin • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 300°F.
Trim the boned from the pork shoulder and set aside. Trim the fat from the meat (and discard) and cut the pork into 1-inch cubes.
In mix bowl combine the flour, 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of pepper. Add the pork and mixed well
Heat 1 tablespoon of the oil in a large oven-proof Dutch oven over medium-high heat Add the meat to the pot so it covers the bottom of the pot evenly and cook for 3 to 4 minutes before moving so that the sides brown nicely for a total of about 8-10 minutes. Transfer the meat to a bowl
Reduce the heat to medium and add the last 2 tablespoon of oil to the Dutch oven and heat until it's shimmering. Add the onion and mushrooms and cook until the vegetables just begin to soften, about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the caraway seeds ,cumin and chili flakes and the 1 1/2 teaspoons of kosher salt and 1 teaspoon of pepper and cook for another 2 minutes or so.
Add pork cubes Dutch oven and top with the Add the Irish Beer ,chicken broth and bay leaves then raise the heat and bring to a boil, and stir and scrape any browned bits from the bottom of the pot.
Cover the Dutch oven with the lid and transfer to the oven to cook for 1 hour.
Remove the pot from the oven, give it a stir if you'd like, and add the carrots and potatoes, cover again and put back in the oven for another 1 to 1 1/2 hours until the carrots and potatoes are cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
Remove the pot from the oven Add the parsley and stir everything together, taste for seasoning and add more salt or pepper if needed. Serve immediately hot.
• -2 lb. Yukon gold potatoes peeled and cut into 1 inch cubes • 2 stick of unsalted butter • 1 cup sour cream • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder • 1 tablespoon salt • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper • 1 cup ground parmesan cheese
Instructions
Make the meat filling -
Add the oil to a large heavy duty skillet and place it over medium-high heat for 2 minutes. Add the onions. Cook 8 to 10 minutes, stirring.
Add the ground beef (or ground lamb or ground turkey )to the skillet and break it apart Add the parsley, rosemary, thyme, cumin ,salt, and and pepper. Stir well. Cook for 8 minutes, until the meat is browned.
Add the Worcestershire sauce and garlic. Stir to combine. Cook for 2 minute.
Add the flour and tomato paste. Stir until well combined.
Add the broth, peas and carrots, and corn. Bring the liquid to a boil then reduce to simmer. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring.
Set the meat mixture aside. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.Make the potato topping.
Place the potatoes in a large pot. Cover the potatoes with water. Bring the water to a boil. Reduce to a simmer. Cook until potatoes are fork tender, 10-15 minutes.
Drain the potatoes in a strainer. Return the potatoes to pot. Let the potatoes rest for 3 minutes
Add butter, sour cream garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mash the potatoes and stir until all the ingredients are mixed together.
Add the 1/2 off the parmesan cheese to the potatoes. Stir until well combined.
Assemble the casserole or pie dish -
Pour the meat mixture into a 9x9 (or 7x11) inch baking dish. Spread it out into an even layer. Spoon the mashed potatoes on top of the meat. Carefully spread into an even layer.
If the baking dish looks very full, place it on a rimmed baking sheet so that the filling doesn’t bubble put the rest of parmesan top Bake uncovered for 20 to 25 minutes in too golden brown cool 15 minutes before serving.

INGREDIENTS:
4 slices of bacon, diced
4 ounces butter
1.5 cups yellow onion, diced medium
2 garlic cloves, minced
3 cups red potato, diced large
1 tbsp flour
2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1 2/3 cups clam juice
10 ounces cod filet, cut into large pieces
10 ounces salmon filet, cut into large pieces
8 ounces shrimp, peeled and deveined
3 ounces crab meat
Parsley and chives to garnish
DIRECTIONS:
Saute diced bacon in a large pot until brown and slightly crispy. Remove bacon but leave fat. Add the butter to the bacon fat and melt. Add the onion, celery, and garlic and sweat in the butter until soft. Add the potato and cook for a couple minutes. Stir in the flir and cook for one more minute to make a roux. Add the milk, cream, and clam juice and bring to a boil while constantly stirring. Once the soup is boiling it will get thick. Add the cod, salmon, and shrimp. Return to a boil then simmer slowly until the fish is cooked. Turn the heat off and gently stir in the bacon and crab meat. Ladle into bowls and garnish with chopped parsley and chives.
