My Favorite Murder, the true crime comedy podcast that’s garnered legions of diehard fans, a.k.a. Murderinos, since its 2016 debut, is the inspiration for Chef Zoe Schor’s next dinner party—a four-part “My Favorite Dinner” series kicking off on Tuesday, Oct. 30.
Each family-style dinner is themed around a catchphrase from the cult-hit podcast and will start with a welcome cocktail of the same name, with conversation starters placed at each seat.
Stay Out Of The Forest, the first in the series on Oct. 30, begins with the Vikre Spruce gin cocktail that’s been on the Split-Rail menu since day one and has a following all its own. Red, white and sparkling wines will be poured with dinner throughout the evening.
The next three dinners in the series are: Pepper Spray First Apologize Later on Nov. 6; Find Your Own Paul Onions on Dec. 11; and Sweet Honesty on Dec. 18.
Schor started Split-Rail’s free-flowing Tuesday dinner parties as a way to engage with friends, neighbors and guests on a more intimate, interactive level and offer a departure from the restaurant’s fried chicken-focused menu. The dinners are not held every Tuesday; the format is ever changing.
The cost for Stay Out Of The Forest is $60 and includes all food and drink. Those with dietary restrictions should email Szot at michelle@splitrailchicago.com before purchasing tickets to inquire about accommodations.
