On Thursday, December 12, Shula’s Steak House Chicago at Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk hosts the Culinary Masterpiece Chef’s Wine Dinner - a dining experience that fuses the world of fine art with cuisine. Created by Executive Chef Tim Wedell in collaboration with promotional partner the Art Institute of Chicago, guests can choose from a multicourse meal inspired by some of the museum’s pieces. This one-night-only event invites guests to savor dishes that bring the colors, textures and compositions of classic artworks to life on the plate.
Menu options include:
Miso Grilled Lobster, inspired by Hokusai’s "The Great Wave." The dish echoes the movement and power of the ocean with umami-packed lobster, paired with earthy wild mushroom congee and tarragon beurre blanc, capturing the tension between tranquility and force.
Ricotta Gnocchi with eggplant ragu and San Marzano tomatoes, inspired by Monet’s "Bordighera." The colors and flavors evoke the sun-drenched Mediterranean, a nod to Monet’s coastal scenes.
Short Rib with potato mousse and parsnip crisps, paired with Hopper’s "Nighthawks." A dish that reflects the quiet of the painting, balancing comforting textures with the deep flavors of pan jus and horseradish.
The culinary experience will be complemented by a selection of wines, chosen to enhance the flavors and artistic themes of each course. The event begins at 7 p.m. with limited seating available. Dinner reservations can be purchased for $125 per guest through the hotel’s website. Each purchased ticket includes entry into a raffle to win two complimentary tickets to the Art Institute of Chicago.
