Shore Club, located at 1603 North Lakeshore Drive, announced its return to the Chicago dining scene on Saturday, May 11th. This dining option and event space, nestled between the Lakeshore Trails on the edge of North Avenue Beach, is set to feature a newly developed set of programming and activations this year. From morning workout classes on the beach to a cold towel service in the cabanas, Shore Club will be upgrading its offerings and menus in all three of its spaces.
“After a successful teaser season, we are excited to bring Shore Club back to both Chicago visitors and residents alike,” said Robbie Schloss, one of the four local owners and partners, including Lisa Jaroscak, Nicholas Thayer and Bill La Macchia Jr. “Our new and improved elements to the venue will help to prove that this unique dining option is not like anything else in the Windy City and is the best place to enjoy a Chicago summer.”
The Patio at Shore Club, which features lunch and dinner service on a first-come-first-serve basis, will add an additional bar and a new set of lighting for evening dining. This space will service its own event programming, which will include “Movies on the Beach” and Lakefront After Hours, a series of events happening once the sun sets on North Avenue Beach. The open-air patio is accessible to beach patrons looking to unwind with a quick bite and a cocktail after a long day on the sand. They will feature a rotating schedule of specialty workshops.
Shore Club will also be partnering with Equinox to host morning workout classes at the venue. For those looking for a post-run treat or a morning coffee, this lakefront destination will be offering coffee, bottled tea, cold pressed juices, and grab ‘n go food items starting at 7:30 a.m. every morning.
The Oasis at Shore Club, the most exclusive space at the venue, will upgrade its services to feature a cold towel service and a misting system for guests to enjoy. The menu at The Oasis at Shore Club is for groups looking for a one-day getaway. Guests can soak up the sun and indulge in champagne, or enjoy a variety of different signature Club cocktails. Reservations are required for The Oasis at Shore Club.
The Restaurant at Shore Club offers an elevated food menu in a covered, open air environment. Boasting large glass windows and an attentive staff dressed in beach-inspired crisp whites with splashes of teal, The Restaurant at Shore Club will make visitors feel as if they are vacationing on a far-off coastal beach. This space has also updated their seating arrangements this season to accommodate bigger groups. Reservations are highly encouraged. Shore Club Brunch will also be offered every Saturday and Sunday from 10am – 1pm at The Restaurant at Shore Club, and features an a la carte style experience with a sweet and savory crepe and omelette station sure to satisfy those looking for a new go-to brunch spot.
Shore Club will feature a Mediterranean-inspired food menu created by Executive Chef Elizabeth Tokarczyk, in partnership with Inspired Catering, which will focus on seafood dishes.
The menu will offer savory sharable plates, like the house Charcuterie Board, and full entrees, one of which is the Shore CLUB, a large, over-the-top sandwich made with mesquite turkey, maple sugar bacon, avocado aioli, tomato jam, and a fried egg all on stacked Challah toast. Fresh seafood dishes include Grilled Baby Octopus, Grilled Yuge Scallops, and a Nicoise Salad. Lighter fare will also be available for guests to choose from, perfect for those just finishing a workout along the Lakeshore Trails, including the Strawberry Macaroon Salad, a Grilled Stone Fruit Salad, and Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps. The Shore Club menu has something for every type of appetite.
Shore Club offers a beverage program that includes all-new frozen drink options, such as Frosé All Day, Frozignon Blanc, Cold Fashioned, Strawberry Daquiri, Gold Coast Colada, and Beach Body Margarita. Returning favorites from the signature drink menu include the Chicago ’71, a smoking drink, inspired by the historic Chicago fire, made with gin, champagne, simple syrup and a fresh lemon twist, and the Life’s a Beach, made with tequila, prickly pear cactus, lemon and demerara. The Beach Party cocktail, sure to be one of the most-captured cocktail photos of the season, is made with cucumber-infused vodka, pineapple, lime, jalapeno and sparkling wine, and is also available in large format, served in either a giant copper pineapple or a flamingo.
