‘Tis the season! It’s nearly Christmastime in Chicago and the Wrigleyville businesses are coming together once again to spread holiday cheer on Clark Street. Of course everyone's heard all the news about Santa’s Workshop coming to Old Crow Smokehouse in Wrigleyville. Well, they are rolling out the red carpet from the kitchen straight to the table with a smokin’ holiday menu. Available through this very festive season, the all-ages popup will feature special menus, massive holiday décor, and three floors of festivities for a season-long celebration.
Old Crow has spent over $100K on Christmas décor and oh man…it shows! Starting things off is an 18-foot-tall Christmas tree adorned with hundreds of red and gold ornaments and wrapped around in shimmering lights. Don’t worry, there are enough trees for everyone with rows and rows of 10-foot tall trees and tremendously large Santas! Make sure to climb up one (or both!) of the enormous 12-foot high rocking horses for the whackiest, larger-than-life photo op.
Upstairs, the rooftop will be enclosed with four cabanas featuring fireplaces and space heaters for a cozy outdoor hangout that holds up to 16 people. Oh! And don’t miss Santa Claus take off in his reindeer-pulled, 30-foot long sleigh! There will also be an indoor and outdoor light show with beautiful picturesque scenes projected on the walls for a stunning and radiant spectacle. With a new kid’s menu, holiday specials, and featured cocktails, Old Crow’s Christmas popup is sure to be a holiday extravaganza!
Fan favorites are, of course, the drinks. Hogwartz ain’t got nothin’ on Old Crow’s Butter Beer! Made with cream soda, vanilla vodka, and that foamy goodness piling out of the glass? Marshmallow Fluff. Santa’s Night Cap is so good too. It’s like a hot chocolate espresso, but served with chocolate chip cookies and a gingerbread marshmallow man bobbing out the top.
The food selection is warm and cozy with a handful of entrees and a few desserts mixed in. The Swiss and Turkey Grilled Cheese with Cranberry Mustard is crazy delicious on the toasted thick cut rustic white bread from Highland Baking. The dessert roundup is complete with Velvet Cake Bites with cream cheese frosting and caramel sauce, as well as a Sweet Potato Casserole with a brown sugar pecan crust!
Oh yeah, and it’s free! Catch all the splendor when menu goes live along with the grand opening of beginning the day after Thanksgiving! Santa’s Workshop will be open 7 days a week—10AM on weekends and 4PM on weekdays. Santa and his elves take a vacation Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Parking is located in the lot nearby.
