Local chefs and restaurants are ready to serve pre-race pasta dishes in advance of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday, October 11. Various carb loading options are outlined below and these will be available on Saturday, October 10.
Park Grill Park
Grill will hold their third annual Bank of America Chicago Marathon
Pre-race Pasta Dinner on The Plaza at Millennium Park. This tented event
will feature a pasta buffet with four
selections, build-your-own pasta station, three salads, dessert and
choice of Goose Island beer or The Naked Grape wine. Seatings will be
offered at 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
and the fee is $40 per guest. The pre-race buffet menu includes: butter
lettuce salad; caesar salad; caprese salad; roasted garlic mozzarella
bread; grilled vegetables; baked mac and cheese cavatappi; rigatoni
bolognese grana padano; an array of pasta with various sauces, proteins

Jonathan Fox's River North restaurant offers hand made pastas,
including: Gnudi (ricotta and semolina dumpling, tomato puree, burrata,
genovese basil); Cacio e Pepe (house made spaghetti, farm butter,
cracked black pepper); Cannelloni (hand rolled with farm cheese and
ricotta, summer market vegetables, arrabiata sauce); Tagliatelle
All'Amatriciana (san marzano tomato, guanciale, toasted garlic, chili
flake); Pappardelle (wild boar bolognese, aromatic vegetables, tomato,
oregano); and Orecchiette (chicken sausage, tomato conserva, roasted
eggplant, green olive). The dishes are available in whole or half
portions at lunch and dinner service. The restaurant is open on
Saturdays from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.-midnight.

Arrabiata (shrimp, chilies, tomato, basil); Orecchiette (braised lamb,
marinara, ricotta salatta); Bucatini Amatriciana (pancetta, tomato,
chilies, pecorino); Lasagna (spinach, ricotta, marinara); and
Tagliatelle (Italian style sausage, rapini, cream, parmigiana). Tesori
