Andersonville

  • Uvae Kitchen & Wine Bar

Uvae, the woman-owned kitchen and wine bar in Andersonville, invites Chicagoans to raise a glass to the women shaping the world of wine. They will host a “Women in Wine” Tasting Class on Saturday, March 8 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Guests will discover and sip wines crafted by female winemakers while learning the stories behind each bottle. The team of women at Uvae will each choose a female winemaker to showcase during this tasting class. Tickets are $40 per person, to purchase visit https://tinyurl.com/4bpx9ny5. Uvae is owned by sommelier and educator Lindsey Anderson who holds her Level III Sommelier Certification and has been a Level I Wine Apprentice instructor at Kendall College since 2017. Her aim with Uvae is to make wine education unpretentious, approachable and fun.

Avondale

  • Central Park Bar

Central Park Bar in Avondale will donate $1 from every Call Your Mutha cocktail sold on March 6 to the Chicago Foundation For Women. The $13 cocktail features Rancho La Gloria Spiked Horchata, Bottega Pistachio liqueur, Greenbar Ginger liqueur, and St. Elder Hazelnut liqueur.

Downtown and The Loop

  • Avli on The Park

To celebrate International Women's Day on Saturday, March 8th, Avli will host a special brunch at Avli on The Park benefitting the local and women-led charity, Kitchen Possible. The brunch will feature dishes by Avli's Eleftheria Sioulas, a Senior Sous Chef at Avli on The Park, as well as a local jewelry pop-up, Elissa Robyn Jewelry. Kitchen Possible, led by Founder Katie Lowman, is a non-profit that teaches cooking lessons to kids aged 8-12 in under-resourced Chicago neighborhoods to empower them to feel confident in their ability to make things happen and learn skills that can be applied in and out of the kitchen. 

  • Arlo Chicago

Born and raised in Chicago, Kierra Moore brings over a decade of industry experience to her role as hotel manager at Arlo Chicago. After serving her country for eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps, Moore transitioned into hospitality, channeling her drive and dedication into a passion for leadership. She honed her skills while working in various leadership, operational, director and audit roles for hotels such as The Public Chicago, Hilton McCormick Place, Highgate and DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago Magnificent Mile. In 2023, Moore joined Arlo Chicago as director of operations, where she earned her title as hotel manager within less than a year. 

  • The Dearborn

In celebration of Women’s History Month this March, The Dearborn is spotlighting women-led and owned spirits by featuring them on their beverage menu throughout the month. Owned by sisters Amy and Clodagh Lawless, The Dearborn is highlighting women in the industry—especially in such a male-dominated field. Some cocktails include: Hung Up on Lychees – Honoring Dr. Sonat Birnecker Hart, owner and founder of Koval Distillery, and Anne Brock, Mast Distiller of Bombay Gin. This drink features jasmine green tea-infused Koval vodka, Bombay Gin, Ketel One cucumber & mint vodka, St. Germain elderflower liqueur, yuzu, lychee, and lemon; Bidi Bom Dreamin’ – Celebrating Sonya Vega, owner and founder of Doña Vega Mezcal. It’s made with Doña Vega Mezcal Espadin, Mezcal Unión, Centenario Plata Tequila, blueberry, pineapple, lemon, and agave; and Crimeful Love – Honoring Catalina Gaete-Bentz, owner and founder of Cata Pisco, and Jenn Toyzer & Katy Brandes, founders of Ume Plum Liqueur. This cocktail features Cata Pisco, Ume Plum Liqueur, High West Double Rye, lemon, blackberries, and Sherry Demerara..

Fulton Market and West Loop

  • The Publican

On Wednesday, March 12th, The Publican team gears up for another night of charitable, oyster-filled action. This year’s guest roster includes Chef Sarah Stegner (Prairie Grass Cafe and Chicago Chefs Cook), Chef Tigist Reda (Demera), Chef Diana Davila (Mi Tocaya Antojeria), Chef Dana Cree (Pretty Cool Ice Cream) and sommelier Belinda Chang. For the first time ever, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Women’s Chef Exchange, an organization raising funds to provide a cross-culture culinary exchange program for up-and-coming women chefs in Italy and the United States.

Between 5 – 10 pm, guests can expect $2 buck-a-shuck oysters with a rotating guest shucker, and drinks galore inside the Fulton Market restaurant. Lily Wang of Nine Bar, will also be behind the bar creating a specialty cocktail for the one-night event. 

Limited Walk-ins and bar tables are available, but reservations are encouraged and can be secured via Tock. Full dinner and drink menu will be served in addition to the special $2 oysters. Each ticket will require a non-refundable deposit of $20 that will be donated entirely to the Women’s Chef Exchange with special merch available for sale on-site.

Gold Coast

  • The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago

Toni Roberts is a pastry chef, wielding the kitchen torch and other pastry tools at The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago, a hotel on the Magnificent Mile. Her past experience includes interning with pastry chef Emily Luchetti at Farallon in San Francisco during her time at the Culinary Institute of America. In 2009, Roberts assisted Marcus Samuelsson at the White House during his guest chef preparation for the Obama administration’s first state dinner. Her accolades include “Rising Star Pastry Chef” from the Jean Banchet Awards for Culinary Excellence and the winner of Pastryscoop.com’s “Best Dessert Menu” award. Time Out Chicago also selected her dessert as one of the “100 Best We Ate This Year.” Roberts’ passion, skills and precision led her to be named executive pastry chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago. Her creations have become touches throughout the property, from Italian-inspired desserts at Torali to breakfast pastries and confections at The Café to showpieces adorning the hotel’s lobby during the holiday season. Roberts inaugurated the hotel’s in-house wedding cake program in 2023 and has created over 50 cakes to date. She continues to participate as a guest chocolatier for the AIDS Foundation Chicago (AFC)'s annual fundraising event, World of Chocolate.

  • Hard Rock Cafe Chicago

In celebration of Hard Rock International’s annual “International Women’s Month” in March and International Women’s Day on Saturday, March 8, Hard Rock Cafe Chicago, will raise funds through its charitable arm, Hard Rock Heals Foundation®, throughout International Women’s Month. 

Hard Rock and Shakira collaborated on menu items including food, a “Hips Don’t Lie” cocktail and clothing designed to celebrate women. Hard Rock will also host women-led performances in March. Fans can buy tickets on their website. Shakira has collaborated with Hard Rock to serve her favorite dishes at Hard Rock Cafe Chicago for a limited time.

Estelle’s will donate $1 from every house cocktail sold on Thursday, March 6 to the Chicago Foundation For Women.

Remedy will donate $1 from every Rose Quartz cocktail sold on March 6 to the Chicago Foundation For Women. The cocktail is $14 each and features Agua Magica Mezcal, pamplemousse, lime, and prickly pear syrup.

  • Sweet Mandy B's

In recognition of International Women’s Day, women-owned and operated Sweet Mandy B’s invites Chicagoans to treat themselves and support a cause as they host a fundraiser to benefit A Long Walk Home. On Saturday, March 8, Sweet Mandy B’s will donate 10-percent of proceeds from all cupcake sales from both the Lincoln Park and Streeterville location to ALWH. Sweet Mandy B's is owned by former CPS school teacher Julie Wang with pastry chef Sherrie Tan at the helm.

A Long Walk Home (ALWH) is a Chicago-based national non-profit that cultivates the next generation of leaders committed to gender equity and racial justice. Founded in 2003 by sisters Salamishah and Scheherazade Tillet, A Long Walk Home works with artists, students, activists, therapists, and community organizations and cultural institutions to elevate marginalized voices, facilitate healing, and activate social change.
