Andersonville

  • Uvae Kitchen & Wine Bar

Uvae, the woman-owned kitchen and wine bar in Andersonville, invites Chicagoans to raise a glass to the women shaping the world of wine. They will host a “Women in Wine” Tasting Class on Saturday, March 8 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Guests will discover and sip wines crafted by female winemakers while learning the stories behind each bottle. The team of women at Uvae will each choose a female winemaker to showcase during this tasting class. Tickets are $40 per person, to purchase visit https://tinyurl.com/4bpx9ny5. Uvae is owned by sommelier and educator Lindsey Anderson who holds her Level III Sommelier Certification and has been a Level I Wine Apprentice instructor at Kendall College since 2017. Her aim with Uvae is to make wine education unpretentious, approachable and fun.

Avondale

  • Central Park Bar

Central Park Bar in Avondale will donate $1 from every Call Your Mutha cocktail sold on March 6 to the Chicago Foundation For Women. The $13 cocktail features Rancho La Gloria Spiked Horchata, Bottega Pistachio liqueur, Greenbar Ginger liqueur, and St. Elder Hazelnut liqueur.

  • Avli on The Park

To celebrate International Women's Day on Saturday, March 8th, Avli will host a special brunch at Avli on The Park benefitting the local and women-led charity, Kitchen Possible. The brunch will feature dishes by Avli's Eleftheria Sioulas, a Senior Sous Chef at Avli on The Park, as well as a local jewelry pop-up, Elissa Robyn Jewelry. Kitchen Possible, led by Founder Katie Lowman, is a non-profit that teaches cooking lessons to kids aged 8-12 in under-resourced Chicago neighborhoods to empower them to feel confident in their ability to make things happen and learn skills that can be applied in and out of the kitchen.

Estelle’s will donate $1 from every house cocktail sold on Thursday, March 6 to the Chicago Foundation For Women.

Remedy will donate $1 from every Rose Quartz cocktail sold on March 6 to the Chicago Foundation For Women. The cocktail is $14 each and features Agua Magica Mezcal, pamplemousse, lime, and prickly pear syrup.

  • Sweet Mandy B's

In recognition of International Women’s Day, women-owned and operated Sweet Mandy B’s invites Chicagoans to treat themselves and support a cause as they host a fundraiser to benefit A Long Walk Home. On Saturday, March 8, Sweet Mandy B’s will donate 10-percent of proceeds from all cupcake sales from both the Lincoln Park and Streeterville location to ALWH. Sweet Mandy B's is owned by former CPS school teacher Julie Wang with pastry chef Sherrie Tan at the helm.

A Long Walk Home (ALWH) is a Chicago-based national non-profit that cultivates the next generation of leaders committed to gender equity and racial justice. Founded in 2003 by sisters Salamishah and Scheherazade Tillet, A Long Walk Home works with artists, students, activists, therapists, and community organizations and cultural institutions to elevate marginalized voices, facilitate healing, and activate social change.
