The Original Rainbow Cone will serve scoops for a good cause during the last month of summer. On August 10, Rainbow Cone welcomes 19th Ward Alderman Matt O’Shea and SCC/Special Olympics Chicago athletes behind the counter at the Beverly location (9233 S Western Avenue) to serve scoops from 12pm-2pm, while raising awareness of the ice cream eatery’s cone of the month special.

This August, $1 of every ‘Fruity Scoops’ cone of the month sold will benefit Special Olympics Chicago and Special Children’s Charities, who provide year-round activities for over 7,500 individuals with intellectual disabilities through the Chicago Public Schools and Chicago Park District. Alderman O’Shea is a board member for the organization and former President. The 19th Ward is home to hundreds of Special Olympics Chicago athletes who compete through the programs at Mt. Greenwood Park and The Chicago High School for the Agricultural Sciences.

Rainbow Cone’s Fruity Scoops features scoops of Strawberry, Orange Sherbet, Wildberry Sorbet.
