Pitaki (pea-TAH-key), the new quick-service Greek street food restaurant by Avli Hospitality Group, opened in Fulton Market on Tuesday, November 12th at 11 a.m.

The restaurant, located at 950 W. Fulton Market St., serves fresh-to-order restaurant-quality pita wraps, bowls, savory Greek pies (pitakia), salads, and sweet treats available for walk-up counter service with limited dine-in seating, carryout and delivery. The menu also features an assortment of beverages and treats, including Halloumi cheese curds, Frappé (traditional Iced Greek coffee), and Greek Froyo.

Pitaki, which is Greek for ‘little pie,’ combines chef-created dishes using high-quality ingredients, like Berkshire Pork and Wagyu Kefte, with the speed and convenience of fast-casual dining.

Pitaki’s menu was created by Avli’s Founder Louie Alexakis and Avli’s Director of Culinary, David Tsirekas. Chef David has worked as the group’s behind-the-scenes consulting chef since Avli opened in Lincoln Park in 2018. All menu items, including the specialty sauces, are made fresh from scratch.

Pitaki’s Menu Highlights Include:

  • Pita Wraps ($10 - $14): Includes a choice of protein including chicken, pork, Wagyu Kefte, or grilled vegetables.
  • The Klassikó Pita Wrap with tomato, onion, and tzatziki.
  • The Colossus Wrap with lettuce, tomato, onion, grilled pickles, graviera, mustard-mayo, and Socrates BBQ sauce.
  • Chef’s Bowls ($14 - $18): Includes a choice of protein including chicken, pork, Wagyu Kefte, or grilled vegetables. Served with pita or gluten-free pita.
  • The Klassikó Bowl, a deconstructed pita wrap with greek salad, fries, tzatziki, zesty lemon, and mustard-mayo.
  • The Dancing Queen with mixed greens, slaw, roasted red pepper, spicy feta, and smoky yogurt.
  • Yiayia’s Garden vegetarian selections include the Greek Goddess Wrap ($11) and the Pegasus Bowl ($15).
  • Pitakia - Savory Greek Pies ($5 each).

“Our menu appeals to the modern day quick-service diner,” says Louie Alexakis, Avli’s CEO and Founder. “Diners are becoming more informed about what they eat and what they spend… and the amazing thing about Greek cuisine is that it’s naturally healthy and accessible.”

Pitaki is open daily for lunch and dinner Monday - Saturday: 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. serving the office and residential buildings in Fulton Market and West Loop. A catering program will launch in the new year.

The restaurant was designed by Chicago-based Gold Coast Interiors, and although it is designed for customer speed and convenience, it remains rooted in Greek tradition with neutral creams and tans, paired with royal blue.

The design also encompasses a curated retail wall with speciality Greek grocery items as well as books and merchandise from Chicago-based vendors such as:

  • Handmade Jewelry by local artist Elissa Robin Jewelry.
  • Photography book, Enduring City, by local Greek-American photographer John Vlahakis.

“At our core we are a neighborhood restaurant and will serve the needs of our local community, spotlight our local vendors, and offer exceptional and delicious food,” says Alexakis. “Although that’s typically not what comes to mind when you think of a quick-service restaurant, it’s what our hospitality group is all about here in Chicago and I want to offer a fresh spin on what it means to be a quick-service restaurant. We're quick, delicious, inviting, and hospitable.”

This is the first of three projects Avli has announced as a part of their Fulton Market expansion plan. More details on a renovated event space, currently open and operating as Morgan’s on Fulton, as well as a full-service restaurant by Avli, will be announced later.
