Pilotworks, the nation’s largest operator of on-demand commercial kitchen space, is opening its first Chicago location in the former Le Cordon Bleu culinary school on Chicago’s North Side (820 N Orleans St, Suite 235, Chicago, Illinois 60610).
The 20,000 square foot facility will help support food entrepreneurship in the Chicago area by providing kitchen space and resources such as access to a national mentor network for support, as well as events that cater to networking and education.
“Pilotworks is about empowering the next generation of food and beverage entrepreneurs to take their ideas from concept to thriving food businesses. We're thrilled to join Chicago's vibrant community of small businesses and food incubators to help create jobs and support the city's incredible food culture,” said Nick Devane, Pilotworks Co-Founder.
Pilotworks will provide a variety of services and space for food entrepreneurs, including affordable access to state-of-the-art shared and dedicated kitchen facilities for 200 companies, cold and dry storage, co-working space, distribution, access to a diverse membership community of makers, a vast mentorship network for 1:1 advice, as well as educational workshops and networking events. Pilotworks can support a variety of business types, such as packaged food brands, baked goods, meal delivery, catering, R+D and growing businesses in need of extra space.
“Chicago’s food and beverage industries are second to none, and Pilotworks will be an invaluable resource for our city’s up-and-coming entrepreneurs in this vibrant space,” said Mayor Rahm Emanuel. “I commend the company for investing in Chicago, and we all look forward to seeing what’s cooking over at Pilotworks.”
Pilotworks Chicago will be hosting a Grand Opening Party on Thursday, May 3rd from 5pm-8pm to celebrate the opening of its first Chicago location. Guests will get to sample food from Pilotworks members and chefs from the Chicago community. This is a great opportunity for inspired food entrepreneurs to learn more about Pilotworks offerings, including access to state-of-the-art shared and dedicated kitchen facilities, on-demand kitchen space bookable by the hour, a national mentor network for support and events that cater to networking and education.
