Tribes Beer Company, one of Chicagoland’s craft beer bars and brewery, is hosting its 7th Annual Oyster Fest at its Mokena location on Thursday, February 11 through Saturday, February 13! Owner Niall Freyne was born in Galway, Ireland, home of the world's oldest oyster fest: the Galway Oyster & Seafood Festival and he has brought this proud tradition to Chicagoland. Fresh oysters are flown in from the east and west coasts each day to ensure that only the freshest coldwater oysters are served. Freyne chooses eight different varieties to satisfy all oyster-loving taste buds. Throughout the event, a raw bar is set up and guests can choose their oysters (between $2.25 -3.25 a piece depending on the variety, available ala carte, no minimum or maximum) and have their order zip-lined to be shucked on the spot by the Tribes crew. Homemade mignonette sauce (a traditional, spicy sauce made with shallots and vinegar) will be served with every order.
In addition to oysters, gigantic shrimp, crab legs Rockefeller and Casino and more will be available. Seafood chowder, baked oyster bruschetta and more specials will also be on the Tribes menu.
Oyster Fest Hours:
Thursday, February 11: 4 p.m.-9 p.m.
Friday, February 12: 2 p.m.-9 p.m.
Saturday, February 13: 12 p.m.-9 p.m.
Tribes hosts this event twice a year—the Mokena location in February and the Tinley Park location in September.
