Events and Festivals German Glenview

Inspired by the world’s most popular German event, Glenview “Haus” will host an all-day Oktoberfest celebration this side of Munich on Saturday, September 17.

The 5th annual festival will feature grub, grog and live German music in the 80’x30’ Oktoberfest tent located in the railroad parking lot directly west of the restaurant.

The Beer Event-goers can say ‘prost’ with liters ($12) and half liters ($7) of Munich’s Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest, Hacker-Pschorr Weis and Sam Adams Oktoberfest brews. Commemorative cups ($5 each) will be on-hand to use throughout the day and attendees from years past are encouraged to bring their signature Glenview Haus cups with them, free of charge.

The Food Chef Jeff Modica will be serving up festive Bavarian food specialties from Brats ($5), Giant Pretzels ($9) and German Plates ($9) loaded with a brat, German potato salad and sauerkraut. New this year, Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt will be on-site for a cool treat available all day.

The Music While filling up on food and beer under the festival tent, attendees can dance the polka as the six-piece Die Musikmeisters band play a rousing blend of traditional German music from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

The Kids Families of all ages can join in on the merriments with a jump house from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and face painting throughout the day.

Glenview Haus’ Oktoberfest will take place on Saturday, September 17 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. with free admission. Glenview House will be open regular hours from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. with dining until 11 p.m.
