The West Town restaurant Funkenhausen (1709 W Chicago Ave) features Chef Mark Steuer’s menu - a melding of cuisine from his German heritage and Charleston upbringing. The neighborhood spot has a front patio on Chicago Ave and a Funky Wine Shop where guests can purchase natural wines for pick-up online via Toast.

Funkenhausen is offering 16oz Spaten Oktoberfest beer ($8 all day, every day) for the entirety of Oktoberfest (Sept 17- Mon, Oct 3). They also have Sunday BBQ each Sunday from 5-8pm ($38) with a smoked meat main and three sides. Chef Mark also plays with classics, but Oktoberfest-ready is the Bratwurst with mustard, house giardiniera, and sal & vinegar chips, seasonal Pretzel Panzanella, and Berkshire Pork Loin Schnitzel with grilled lemon, sauce gribiche, arugula and radish salad.
