Sweet Mandy B's, located at 254 E. Ontario St. in Streeterville, is now open. Sweet Mandy B's is a bakeshop offering old fashioned treats from cupcakes and cookies to brownies, cakes, and breakfast items with everything made in-house. This is the second Sweet Mandy B's to open while the first location in Lincoln Park. The newest location is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sweet Mandy B's is owned by restaurateur Tommy Wang and his wife Julie Wang. "We think the Sweet Mandy B's concept will be a great addition to the Streeterville neighborhood," Wang states. "Besides being close to Michigan Avenue and attached to Northwestern Hospital, we picked Streeterville for the new bakery because we wanted to bring our old fashioned desserts to a totally different neighborhood."
Attached to Northwestern Hospital, the 2,800 square foot Streeterville shop mimics the look and feel of the Lincoln Park location and has pastel tones and white accents. Inside, patrons can settle into yellow and pink booths or post up at the drink rail while they snack on homemade baked goods. The new location offers seating for 20 to 25 guests. The space allows guests to watch as sweet treats are prepared, baked, decorated, and placed into a display case. Paying homage to its original location, the Streeterville post displays its signature "The Best Things in Life Are Sweet" decal, adding a touch of home and offering guests the quintessential Sweet Mandy B's photo opp.
Guests will be offered a menu similar to that of the original location featuring home made treats including cupcakes, cookies, small cakes, bars, brownies, and breakfast items like cinnamon rolls, muffins, scones and more. The new location will also feature a coffee program with local Chicago coffee roaster, Big Shoulders Coffee.
