Vol. 39, the Kimpton Gray Hotel’s second-floor cocktail bar and lounge located in The Loop, is now serving a new judiciary-inspired cocktail menu (staying true to its namesake, as a trove of vintage law textbooks were discovered during the property’s renovation):

  • Crime and Punishment | Martinique rum, tequila, aloe liqueur, agave nectar, lime
  • Burden of Proof | Sazerac Rye Whiskey, ancho reyes chile, vermouth, crème de banane, bitters
  • 25 to Life | Spicy tequila, strawberry, vermouth, bitters
  • No Witnesses | Remy 1738, rum, vermouth, spice, bitters
  • Objection! | Stateside Vodka, Caffè Borghetti espresso liqueur, cold brew concentrate, vanilla, hazelnut, cacao
  • Overruled! | Pineapple rum, baijiu, pineapple, apricot, lime
  • Vol. 39 Old Fashioned | House blend of Cognac, Armagnac and Calvados
  • Wobbler | Carrot and ginger brandies, spice, lime
  • Hung Jury | Chattanooga Whiskey 99 Rye, amaro blend, vermouth, bitters
  • Vigilante Justice | Rye whiskey, Benedictine, Strega, lemon

This month, Vol. 39 is also reintroducing its monthly Cocktails for a Cause program, where the bar selects a different cocktail and donates a portion of the proceeds to a charity or nonprofit organization. February’s challenge is sponsored by the Uncle Nearest HBCU Old Fashioned Challenge, raising money to provide one full tuition scholarship to every accredited Historically Black College & University (HBCU) nationwide. For every Bacongate cocktail purchased now through June 19 (in honor of Juneteenth), $2 will be contributed to the organization.

  • Bacongate | Bacon-washed Uncle Nearest bourbon, maple, bitters
