Brunching Around Town for Father's Day

Belly Up Smokehouse Hosts Father's Day Barbecue Brunch
Dads can visit Belly Up Smokehouse (1132 S. Wabash) on Father's Day and enjoy their new brunch menu, available on Sunday, June 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests can treat Dad to a special "Meal in a Glass" Bloody Mary for $20 that features Tito's Vodka, local Cicero Bloody Mary Mix and Guinness topped with grilled shrimp, candied bacon, grilled cheese, fried pickle, hot link, olives, celery, onion ring and served with a Miller High Life pony. Diners can also enjoy $6 Manmosas, $9 Bloody Man-ly's (made with Cicero Bacon Bloody Mary mix), and rotating drafts like Leinenkugel Summer Shandy ($6), Old Town Abbey Blonde Ale ($6) and Samuel Adams Rebel Grapefruit ($6).

The menu will feature items like Smoked Brisket Hash (12-hour smoked brisket, hash browns, peppers, crispy onion, fried egg, red-eye barbecue sauce; $13), Pork Belly & Grits (smoked pork belly, cheddar grits, red-eye barbecue sauce, scallions: $12), Chicken & Waffles (Southern fried chicken breast, golden waffle, maple butter; $12) and more. 

Father's Day Brunch & U.S. Open Viewing at Commonwealth 
Commonwealth Tavern (2000 W. Roscoe Street) will open at 10 a.m. on Father's Day, Sunday, June 19 and feature brunch until 2 p.m. Starting at noon, guests can brunch while enjoying the 2016 U.S. Open on eight TVs including a 70-inch plasma.

Menu highlights include Brunch Schnitzel (herb aioli, smoked potatoes, pickled red onion, fried egg; $14), Pig Muffin (maple pig head, farm egg, American cheese, English muffin; $12), and Kentucky Hot Brown (smoked turkey, bacon, tomato, beer cheese, sourdough, $14). Featured drink specials include a $3 Build-Your-Own Mimosa Bar and $6 Build-Your-Own Bloody Mary Bar. 

Father's Day Brunch Package at Flagship
Chicagoans can treat Dad this Father's Day with a $25 brunch package at Flagship (1622 W. Belmont Ave.) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. which will feature bottomless bloody marys or mimosas as well as one brunch menu item. Domestic bottles will also be available.

Menu highlights include Crunchy Banana French Toast, Hangover Hash and the Nola Benedict (with shrimp, Black Forest ham and cajun hollandaise on a buttermilk biscuit), which was featured on WGN's Chicago's Best.

Father's Day Family Weekend at Tavern on Little Fort
Tavern on Little Fort (4128 N. Lincoln Ave.) will kick off Father's Day weekend with their new Kid's Music Series on Saturday, June 18 at 11 a.m. For $8 per person (12 months and under is free), guests will enjoy live music and an engaging performance from Mr. Dave (http://www.mrdavemusic.com) while enjoying brunch and drink specials in the beer garden. 

Continuing the celebration on Father's Day, Sunday, June 19, Tavern on Little Fort will open at 10 a.m. and feature a family-friendly brunch until 2 p.m. Brunch highlights include the Breakfast Burger (70-percent brisket and 30-percent bacon patty, tavern sauce, bread and butter pickles, fried egg, New England bun; $15), Breakfast Bagel (ham, scrambled egg, beer cheese; $12), and Vegetable Frittata (asparagus, tomato chile relish, aioli, parmesan; $12). Featured drink specials include a $3 Build-Your-Own Mimosa Bar and $5 Build-Your-Own Bloody Mary Bar. A Kid's Menu offers items like Mac & Cheese ($6), Mini Corn Dogs ($6), Little Cheese Burgers with house made fries ($6) and more.
