Pastry pop-up, Familiar Bakery, from Chicago pastry chef, Chef Ashley Robinson (Dusek’s Tavern, The Bakery at Fat Rice, Japonais, Spiaggia, Spinning J Bakery), and 16" On Center hospitality group is now open at Revival Food Hall. The pop-up bakery opened on January 31 inside 16" On Center’s Revival Food Hall, the all-local dining concept on the ground floor of The National building in the Loop. 

Familiar Bakery will showcase globally-inspired pastries with a focus on seasonal changes and produce from the many farms Chef Robinson partners with. Guests can look forward to various sweet and savory options, including: 

  • Sourdough Bagels: Chewy sourdough bagels, made fresh daily. Variety of flavors, including housemade “everything mix” made with Maine seaweed.

  • Marcona Buttercrunch Donut: A fluffy milk bread donut, glazed and topped with crunchy marcona almond + brown butter toffee. 

  • Real Strawberry Donuts: Fluffy milk bread donut glazed with pink frosting that's made from actual strawberries and a touch of lemon. What a strawberry donut should be!

  • Morning Buns: Croissant dough swirled and rolled with orange zest, cinnamon, and saffron sugar. 

  • Roasted Banana Toffee Brownies: Rich, fudgy brownie swirled with a roasted banana toffee caramel. 

  • Lemon Custard Buns: Fluffy dough swirled with lemon custard and rolled in crunchy lemon sugar. 

  • Savory Pies: Flaky butter pastry filled with savory fillings including the classic chicken and mushroom, made with Slagel chicken, as well as the vegetarian delicata squash, leek, and taleggio.
