I|O Godfrey

I|O Godfrey wanted to make sure their Espresso Martini stood out, while not affecting the flavor of the drink. Instead of making the martini with the staple ingredient, vodka, they decided to substitute the vodka for Don Julio Anejo to provide the invigorating tequila twist, to elevate the flavor of the caffeinated martini.

For those who cannot make it to the Windy City any time soon to try this tequila-based cocktail can make it at home by following the recipe below:

Ingredients:

  • 1.75 oz DJ Anejo
  • 1 oz Cold Brew
  • 1 oz Black Coffee Liqueur
  • 25 oz Simple
  • 25 oz Amaro Montenegro
  • 2 dashes Chocolate Walnut Bitters

Directions:

Pour all ingredients into a shaker over ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a coup and garnish with three coffee beans.

LG’s Bar & Kitchen

Located in the heart of Wells Street, LG's offers mule lovers the chance to break away from the regular go-to of the Moscow Mule and try a tequila twist with the Jalisco Mule. Made with Espolon Silver, lime juice and ginger beer, LG’s elevates it a notch with the option of an additional casamigos mezcal float, not only for National Tequila Day but for every summertime happy hour. LG’s is opening this National Tequila Day from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Burrito Beach

Burrito Beach focuses on unique flavors not only in their food, but also in their cocktails and their Walking Paloma is no exception. What is a walking paloma? Burrito Beach has elevated the traditional Mexican cocktail by creating the recipe in a Grapefruit Jarritos glass bottle, to create the traditional flavors of a Paloma to drink on the go. While this Walking Paloma is only available at Burrito Beach’s Lincoln Park location, it has become a pairing to a diner’s customizable entree and this National Tequila Day is the chance to enjoy.

Farm Bar Lakeview

Farm Bar has a rotating cocktail menu that focuses on today’s trends and unique offerings, and what’s more trendy this summer than Aperol? Diego Montes, the General Manager of Farm Bar has combined two summertime favorites, tequila and Aperol, to create their cocktail Up, Up and Away. Made with Libelula Tequila, Aperol, Fresh Pineapple Juice, Orange Bitters and Mint Sprig, this cocktail focuses on the bitter taste of Aperol, combining with the flavors of tropical fruits of the summertime to create a refreshing cocktail to enjoy on a patio.
