National Taco Day Around Town

It's taco time! In celebration of National Taco Day (October 4), Taco Joint in River North and Lincoln Park will feature create-your-own taco platters from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Guests may choose any two tacos from the menu, plus rice and beans for $8. Pair your platters with Taco Joint's "Thirsty Thursday" drink special, featuring house-made margarita by the bottle for $25 (regularly $36). 

Cantina Laredo in River North will offer $1 tacos, with the purchase of any entree, from 11 a.m.- 10 p.m. Chef Damon Workman's modern Mexican menu features steak fajita, pollo avocado, barbacoa and pescado tacos served on corn tortillas. In addition, the Mexican restaurant features discounted taco trios in the lounge during happy hour from 3:30-6:30 p.m., along with $5 imported brews, $6 glasses of house wine and $7 Casa 'Ritas. 

Artango Bar and Steakhouse in Lincoln Square will offer $2 tacos (choice of chicken, beef or veggie) from 5-11 p.m. Arrive early for happy hour, featuring $7 Latin libations (margaritas; mojitos; caipirinhas) and select wine from 5-7 p.m., and stay for live music by guitar virtuoso Guillermo Paolisso from 7:30-10 p.m.
