In celebration of National Meatball Day, Bar Roma in Andersonville will hold their third annual eating competition on Thursday, March 9. Starting at 7 p.m., participants will be challenged to race their way through a massive bowl of spaghetti and manzo (beef) meatballs.
The first person to finish the bowl will receive a $100 cash prize, along with Bar Roma merchandise, restaurant gift cards and more. Prizes will also be awarded to the second and third place competitors. The eating contest entry fee is $20 per person.
Dining guests and spectators may select from half-priced "Spaghetti e Polpette" on March 9 from 4:30-9:30 p.m. Chef Ramos' signature dish features hand rolled spaghetti with pomodoro sauce and beef meatballs ($12, regularly $24).
