Lottie's Pub

Join Lottie’s Pub (1925 W Cortland St) in celebrating National Dog Day on Friday, August 26th from 5 PM-7 PM. Hang out on Lottie’s dog-friendly patio while tie-dyeing a bandana for your dog and a matching t-shirt for yourself with all supplies provided by Lottie’s. While taking part in the tie-dye party, be sure to indulge in $3 Chicago Dogs,  $5 Hop Valleys, $5 Lagunitas, and $6 Tito’s Greyhounds. In addition to Tito’s, Hop Valley, and Lagunitas samplings and dog swag giveaways, there will also be raffles happening all evening long to benefit Bucktown’s Churchill Dog Park.

aliveOne

aliveOne, the neighborhood bar that’s been a staple in Lincoln Park for 25 years, welcomes everyone, even well-behaved four-legged friends in the early evening if the bar isn’t overly busy. Many locals bring their dogs while they enjoy aliveOne’s half-price happy hour, every Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

Guests with dogs in tow can take advantage of the “Patio on Schubert”, which started during the pandemic and is now a permanent fixture throughout summer and early fall. Schubert Avenue is closed to traffic on weekends and aliveOne adds outdoor seating every Friday through Saturday. Neighboring business, Tandoor Char House joins in once a month and Sapori Trattoria joins in weekly. 

Bartoli's Pizzeria

Bartoli’s Pizzeria in Roscoe Village offers a dog-friendly, intimate, flower-lined sidewalk patio for about 20 guests. Full food and drink menus are available, and diners are welcome to BYOB. Guests can indulge in Bartoli’s favorites while dining alfresco like their signature Chicago Classic Deep Dish Pizza with Italian sausage, mushroom, onion and green pepper, Badger-style Fried Cheeseballs, Nonna Bartoli’s Meatball Sandwich with homemade meatballs and marinara on french bread and more. 

Central Park Bar

New for 2022, Central Park Bar in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood features a massive outdoor 3,500 square-foot “backyard bar” that is dog-friendly. The outdoor space is a casual, down-to-earth gathering spot for relaxing and unwinding. 

A brand new open-air covered bar sits atop blue mosaic flooring with fans and cafe lights overhead. The outdoor bar has three 55-inch TVs and for those cooler spring and summer nights, the outdoor bar area is equipped with overhead heaters. 

Adjacent to the covered area, stone landscaping gives the expansive space a backyard feel. Seven picnic tables sit under mulberry trees while hammered copper tiki-style gas torches line the space. Guests can opt to hang out on two white porch swings or Adirondack chairs surrounding a large 60 x 36-inch above ground brick fire pit. Patrons can also enjoy a bumper pool table situated on astro turf alongside the fire pit area.  

Guests can enjoy draft cocktails, local and international beers, and half-price happy hour every Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. al fresco. 

Cody's Public House

The recently revamped and reopened Cody’s Public House in West Lakeview offers an expansive dog-friendly beer garden that can accommodate 100 people. Guests can cozy up to the year-round fire pit, weather permitting and enjoy ample seating, string lights, dart boards, and a court for bean bags and bocce. The beer garden also has a grill that guests can use for free to grill up food that they bring. 

Cody’s National Dog Day Party

Always dog-friendly inside and out, Cody’s Public House in West Lakeview will host a National Dog Day Party on Friday, August 26 beginning at 6 p.m. Dogs will be treated to FREE Pup Cups, dog treats from The Raw Butcher, and dog swag while humans can participate in raffles benefiting Alive Rescue, a local no-kill adoption center. 

Cody’s will serve free Chicago hot dogs, fresh off the grill, along with themed drink specials including $4 Hop Valley IPA, $6 Red Rocket Shots and $6 Tito’s Greyhounds. Whiskey fans can enjoy $15 Neuter Flights which includes one shot each of Fireball, Skrewball and Dough Ball. Weather permitting, guests can enjoy TVs, darts and bean bags in Cody’s beer garden. 

Easy Bar

Located at the bustling corner of Division and Damen in Wicker Park, the casual, dog-friendly sidewalk patio at Easy Bar has seating for 15 to 20 guests. This neighborhood bar is an idea for after-work or post-brunch spot offering a daily Half-Price Happy Hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

Rewired Pizza Cafe & Bar

Rewired Pizza Cafe & Bar in Edgewater offers a spacious 40 seat dog-friendly patio for guests to enjoy during the alfresco dining season that is enclosed with a tent during the colder months. The patio features heaters and a fire pit lit nightly. Seating is first come, first served. Full food and drink menus are available Rewired offers frozen cocktails like a Frozen Rosé and Frozen Aviation.

The Rambler Kitchen + Tap

When there’s nice weather in Chicago and patio seating is in high demand, diners are likely to find a spot at The Rambler in North Center. The bar and restaurant has both a spacious flower-lined, dog-friendly sidewalk patio with dining for 48 as well as a large outdoor beer garden with a removable roof. The beer garden accommodates up to 68 guests and is outfitted with a full bar, six TVs and a sound system for catching sports games with the sound on. Guests can enjoy the full bar and food menus alfresco.

Roscoe Street-ery

The Roscoe Street-ery invites Chicagoans to “Shop & Dine” in Roscoe Village. As part of the City of Chicago’s Expanded Outdoor Dining Program, the 2000 block of Roscoe Street from Damen to Seeley will be closed to feature on-street al fresco dining. The Roscoe Street-ery is held Friday through Sunday on the second and fourth weekends of every month through October 23. 

Guests will enjoy food and drinks from Commonwealth Tavern, Kitsch’n, Same Same and Volo Restaurant Wine Bar with rotating Street-ery food and drink specials. Participating restaurants will accept reservations and try to accommodate requests for Street-ery dining. All outdoor dining is dog-friendly.

The Street-ery restaurants will also offer weekly specials and/or discounts through October on Street-ery weekends when patrons shop at participating local merchants on Roscoe Street and present a receipt.
