Hoyt's American Tavern

Bring your four-legged companion and rendezvous at the Royal Sonesta Chicago Downtown at 11am on National Dog Day. Prepare for a 30-minute dog walk, led by the hotel's CHI-SOCIETY instructor. All dog enthusiasts are welcome to join with or without pups.

Following a walk, the festivities will continue on the Hoyt's American Tavern patio. Guests will sample bites crafted for both humans and their loyal companions, by Chef John Rudolph. The celebration will be completed a signature yappy-hour themed specialty cocktail.

All event attendees will get an exclusive 20% discount on any post party lunch or cocktail purchases.

aliveOne

The neighborhood bar allows dog-friendly hangs with well-behaved leashed dogs in the early evening hours. Guests can also take advantage of aliveOne’s half-price happy hour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. featuring half-price on everything (excluding shots).

Central Park Bar

Central Park Bar in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood features an outdoor 3,500 square-foot “backyard bar” that is dog-friendly until 8 p.m. Patrons can select from a $9 beer and shot combo special available all day. Combos include PBR & Malört, Miller High Life & Evan Williams, Modelo & El Jimador, and Okocim & Żubrówka. 

Cody's Public House

Always dog-friendly inside and out, Cody’s Public House in West Lakeview will host a National Dog Day Party on Saturday, August 26 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Dogs will be treated to free Pup Cups, dog treats from The Raw Butcher, and dog swag while humans can participate in raffles benefiting Second City Canine Rescue. Second City Canine Rescue's mission is to rescue homeless animals and responsibly place them into permanent, loving homes. 

Cody’s will serve up themed drinks from their Puptail Menu in which 50-percent of proceeds will also be donated to SCCR. Drinks include $7 Tito’s Greyhounds, $6 Red Rocket shots (José Cuervo Tradicional shot with a strawberry jalapeño chaser), $6 Yellow Snow cocktails, and $5 Lagunitas IPA. Made specifically for dogs, there will also be $5 Best Buds Brew, a non-alcoholic craft bacon porter brew.

Easy Bar

Guests can visit the casual dog-friendly sidewalk patio at Easy Bar while taking advantage of a half-price happy hour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Available all evening are $9 beer and shot combos.

The Rambler Kitchen + Tap

The Rambler in North Center will host a “Dog Days of Summer” party on Saturday, August 26 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. p.m. Dogs will be treated to FREE Pup Cups, dog treats, and dog swag. Themed drink specials will include $5 Lagunitas IPA, $7 Tito’s Greyhounds, $6 Red Rocket shots and $6 Yellow Snow cocktails. $5 Best Buds Brews (non-alcoholic craft bacon porter brew for dogs) will also be available. Weather permitting, guests can visit The Ramber’s dog-friendly sidewalk patio as well as an outdoor beer garden.

Gene & Georgetti

Gene & Georgetti is celebrating International Dog Day, Saturday, August 26 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a selection of dog-themed cocktails and treats for your pup, with a portion of the proceeds to support PAWS Chicago, an organization dedicated to ending the killing of homeless cats and dogs.

Human Cocktail Menu:

  • Corgi Cosmopolitan - G&G House Vodka, cranberry juice, cointreau and fresh lemon juice
  • Greyhound's Delight - Hendricks Gin, fresh grapefruit juice and a lime garnish
  • Chow Chow Chocolate Martini - Fresh Lavazza espresso, Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey and Marie Brizard Chocolat Liqueur
  • Labradoodle Lemonade - Housemade lemonade with muddled fresh raspberries

Dog Treats Menu:

Treat your pup to dog treats, specially crafted for International Dog Day. Each treat costs $3. The treats are made from stone ground whole wheat flour, sweet potato, yogurt coating, carob coating, vegetable oil, molasses and natural and artificial color. Flavors include:

LondonHouse

LondonHouse Chicago is hosting their first ever LH Wooftop Party at LH on 22, an exclusive dog-friendly event. This alfresco rooftop gathering will be held Saturday, August 26 from 8 to 10 a.m. Ticket price is $50 per person + one dog Tick Link on Tock. Guests will be offered complimentary morning beverages, pastries, puppaccinos, and doggies treats. Proceeds of the event will be donated to PAWS Chicago. You can also get a caricature of your pet from sketch artists, Water Pop to take home or pre-order your sketch and pick it up at the event. 

Machine: Engineered Dining & Drink

Machine offers Waggy Hour every Wednesday & Thursday on The Garden patio. From 4 - 11 pm, bring your pup to their dog-friendly patio for a drink, dinner and treat your four-legged friend to homemade treats from Doggy Style Pet Shop. Doggy Sammie, Cookie, Smore, Pupcup or Happy Barkday Cake.

CBR

Bring your furbaby to CBR for brunch on the patio from 8am - 2pm and treat them to a little something to eat as well! A special Brunch Bark Bites will be available to order featuring:

  • Puppy Parfait - overnight oats with plain Greek yogurt
  • Charcuterie Board - peanut butter dipped apples, assorted domestic cheeses, and oat crisps
  • Sweet Potato Hash with soft-boiled egg and chopped kale
  • Watermelon & Yogurt Pupsicles

Those looking to expand their family will have a chance to meet adoptable pups from 12pm-2pm. Chicago Canine Rescue will be on the CBR patio with dogs ready for adoption that can be taken home the same day!

Lottie's Pub

Lottie’s dog-friendly patio is inviting pets and pet parents to celebrate ‘National Dog Day’ on Saturday, August 26th from 12pm to 4pm, with an afternoon of food and drink specials. Offerings include $3 Chicago dogs, $5 Lagunitas mason jars, $5 Lone River agave seltzers and $7 Tito’s greyhounds. An on-site raffle will take place to benefit Churchill Dog Park, with prizes including a Lone River cooler, Lottie’s gift cards, and more.

Ina Mae Tavern

Ina Mae Tavern's dog-friendly patio is hosting a National Dog Day themed “Yappy Hour” to celebrate the city pups in our life. From 4 - 6pm on Saturday, August 26th, Ina Mae Tavern will offere $10 frozen cocktails and $5 High Noons while your patio pooch is provided complimentary treats.

Ina Mae’s full NOLA-inspired dinner menu will also be available with selections such as beignets, po’ boys, seafood or chicken platters, and more.
