Mother’s Ruin, the New York-born dive bar concept, celebrates its grand opening in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood this Friday, March 11 at 4pm. Located at 2943 N. Milwaukee Avenue, the new Chicago location boasts 1,200 square feet and seats 65. An additional 12 seats make up an outdoor patio. Mother’s Ruin Chicago will be open seven days a week, 365 days a year. Food and drinks will be served from 4pm until 2am Sunday through Friday, and from 4pm to 3am on Saturdays, with a kitchen that never closes early.

“We’re so excited to be opening in the Avondale neighborhood,” says Co-Founder Richard Knapp. “We’ve watched the neighborhood grow, and now we’re thrilled to be growing right along with it.”

In addition to an ever-changing cast of free-poured, craft cocktails and slushies, Mother’s Ruin Chicago introduces an array of new bar dishes including Green Chile Beer Cheese Nachos, Mama’s McFish Sandwich, and a French Onion Soup Grilled Cheese. The menu also features the signature Spicy Chicken Sandwich and the Smoked Trout Caesar. A vegan Falafel Burger will also be offered. The brunch menu, which will be served seven days a week, will roll out in the coming weeks.

“Our intention has always been to create an irresistibly cool vibe with service at the forefront, cranking out high caliber cocktails without the suspenders and wait.” says Chef-Partner Nick Pfannerstill. “We don’t take ourselves too seriously - a lot of the food is the stuff you wouldn't take home to mom, but you can crush the salads and vegan options any day of the week - there's something for everybody.”
