Moody Tongue (2136 S. Peoria St.), the culinary brewery in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago, invites guests to explore their creative curiosities through culinary beer, as it hosts a painting class in its Tasting Room on Thursday, August 24 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Inspired by Chicago’s Green City Market, where the brewery sources ingredients used in its Farmer’s Market Beer Series, the painting class will explore the bounty of beautiful produce available at the local summer market. Attendees will embark on creating a one-of-a-kind still life masterpiece, featuring vibrant and seasonal fruits and vegetables. The class, expertly led by guest artist Maira Egan and class coordinator Annika Swenson, will provide all art materials including the canvases, paint, and brushes. Guests also have the opportunity to enjoy their choice of one Moody Tongue perennial beer, such as the Sliced Nectarine IPA or Peeled Grapefruit Pilsner, to kick-start the creativity.
In an effort to show local love and support a neighboring non-profit, Moody Tongue invites guests to bring a used book to donate to nearby Open Books Pilsen, and as an added incentive, will provide an extra perennial beer for them to enjoy throughout the class.
Tickets for the painting class are $35 per person and can be purchased here. For more information on Moody Tongue Brewery visit www.moodytongue.com or call 312.600.5111.
