On Saturday, February 8, at 10:00am, Milk Bar will partner with Boka Restaurant Group to open their first Chicago shop at 200 N. Green Street, on the first floor of The Hoxton, Chicago, in the Fulton Market District. The first fifty customers to visit the shop that morning will receive a signed copy of Bake Club: 101 Must-Have Moves for Your Kitchen, the recently released cookbook by Chef Christina Tosi and Shannon Salzano. This opening marks the brand’s first location in the Midwest and their first partnership with Boka Restaurant Group.
Milk Bar will offer a couple of Chicago specials, only available in the windy city: a Portillo’s Chocolate Cake Cookie and an homage to a Chicago mainstay in the form of Tosi’s cult favorite Bagel Bomb: the Hot Dog Bomb. This savory snack features a bun-inspired bread, topped with poppy seeds, wrapped around a Vienna Beef hot dog bite, topped with mustard, tomato, onion, signature neon green relish, sport peppers, a sprinkle of celery salt - and finished with a pickle spear.
“A midwesterner by birth, Chicago has long been one of my favorite cities to visit. Food, friendship, culture, sports, and art - the city is teeming with real people doing real things their way: creatively, honestly, and inspiringly,” said Milk Bar founder, Christina Tosi. “We are SO excited to bring our passion, enthusiasm, care, and dessert . . . YES, even in February! Chicago, we can't wait to show up for you early morning till late night.”
The opening menu will also feature Milk Bar’s recently released winter menu items:
Red Velvet Cheesecake Cake: layers of double chocolate red velvet cake and frosting, cheesecake filling, and red velvet crumbs
Red Velvet Cake Truffles: A bite sized version of the double chocolate red velvet cake with cheesecake filling, covered in red velvet crumbs
Pancake Soft Serve: A swirl of buttery, battery, sweet soft serve with a melty candy topper and a healthy squeeze of maple syrup
