Craft Cocktails Special Events Bar / Lounge Tapas / Small Plates Latin American River North

School's out, but cocktail classes are in session. Report to River North's Nacional 27 on Wednesday, June 10 to learn about mezcal libations, including the ever popular mule. Beverage Manager Elyse Fuller will lead a Mezcal Class in the lounge starting at 6:30 p.m., where participants will create cocktails while noshing on light passed tapas.

Fuller will highlight her favorite beverage featuring the smoky spirit, the Mezcal Mule, made with mezcal, yuzu syrup, grapefruit juice and ginger beer, served in the traditional copper mug with a lime garnish and a sprinkling of cayenne. “It has every component to make an exceptional cocktail,” Fuller said. “The mezcal adds a smokiness which balances the sweetness from the ginger beer, the acidity from the yuzu and grapefruit and a nice kick of spice from the cayenne.”

The fee of $25 per person includes tapas, cocktail tastings and recipe cards to take home. To sign up for the class, please visit N27Chicago.com.
