Mercadito Chicago is celebrating Día de los Muertos with a specialDía de los Muertos themedMixology Academy course on Saturday, October 14 and Experiential Dinner on Monday, October 23.

Shake things up at La Mez Agave Lounge, downstairs at Mercadito, with a special Día de los Muertos Mixology Academy course Saturday, October 14 at 3 p.m. The course, led by Beverage Director Paul Tanguay, will feature Casamigos Tequila, and highlight Mercadito’s signature Pepino el Pyu, Little Market and Casa Manhattan cocktails. Appetizers will also be provided by Mercadito Chicago’s Chef Aldo Ayala.
The Día de los Muertos Mixology Academy costs $45 per guest. Reservations are required.
Experiential Dinner – Monday, Oct. 23 from 6-9 p.m.
Guests are invited to enjoy five courses accompanied by five Casamigos Tequila cocktails. The dinner is hosted by Monica Dim of Casamigos Tequila and Chef Aldo Ayala of Mercadito.
The festivities begin with Sopa de Calabaza, roasted pumpkin, mole spices, pomegranate and crispy sage.
Guests will then revel in Tamal de Camarón, banana leaf wrapped corn masa, shrimp, chayote, green beans, mole Amarillo, crema fresca and crispy shallots.
Next on the menu is Taco de Mixiote de Cordero, guajillo marinated braised lamb, maguey leaf, caramelized sweet potato, tomatillo salsa and crispy sweet potato.
For the fourth course, guests will be treated to Callo de Hacha, pan-seared diver scallops, butternut squash hash, roasted jalapeño, pumpkin seed vinaigrette and crispy brussels sprouts.
To end with a traditional treat, guests will enjoy Pan de Muerto, Mexican chocolate, mezcal whipped cream, cinnamon, vanilla and orange zest.
The Día de los Muertos Experiential Dinner is $85 per guest, plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required.
