Mariano’s has expanded their support of local businesses with its most recent partnership with Wow Bao. Customers have been able to find Wow Bao in the freezer section at Mariano’s since 2019, and now two new in-store Wow Bow kitchens are open at the Ravenswood and Lakeview East locations, and at over 30 Vero Coffee and Gelato locations throughout Chicago for their fresh steamed menu items.

Wow Bao fuses centuries of tradition with modern Asian street food. Bao is a soft, fluffy dough filled with savory or sweet flavors always steamed and never fried.

When you walk up to the Wow Bao stations, associates prepare a quick, made-to-order menu including:

  • Bao: Teriyaki Chicken, BBQ Berkshire Pork, Spicy Mongolian Beef, Whole Wheat Vegetable
  • Bowls (served on jasmine white rice): Teriyaki Chicken, Orange Chicken, Spicy Kung Pao Chicken
  • Dumplings: Ginger Chicken, Green Vegetable
  • Combos: Bowl + 3 Dumplings, Bowl + 2 Bao

No problem, Breakfast Bao is also available at 30 Vero Coffee and Gelato locations. Flavors include:

  • Egg & Spicy Sausage Bao
  • Egg, Spinach, & Mushroom Bao

“We’re very excited about our partnership with Wow Bao,” said Michael Marx, Mariano’s President. "It's healthier, steamed Asian food, offering plenty of variety so that there’s something for everyone – including vegetarian options.”

“As a homegrown Chicago brand, Wow Bao is thrilled to partner with Mariano’s, a first in class operator, to offer our signature menu items for consumers to take home and enjoy,” said Geoff Alexander, President & CEO of Wow Bao. “Having previously partnered with airports, college campuses, and sport stadiums, the prepared food grocer is the next stage in Wow Bao’s evolution.”
