  • Francois Frankie

Francois Frankie has Chicago's only carousel bar- inspired by the one at Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans! They are open Mon-Fri from 11am- 8:30pm and Sat from 5-8:30pm. They have a cocktail menu with twelve originals and all of the classics, and Jazz Tuesdays (starting at 5pm) as well! Chef Matt Alaya was previously the Executive Chef of Cochon Volant Brasserie in the Loop and has experience from Gilt Bar, Schwa, and Moto. He is known for 'Le Cheeseburger Royale' there, made with two patties, thick cut bacon, confit onion, American cheese, dijonnaise, and house pickles, and a brioche bun. For lunch, the menu has some lighter dishes like a Shrimp and Avocado Nicoise, Rotisserie Chicken Caesar, Smoked Salmon Quinoa Bowl, etc. They have French-American favorites like the Escargot, Classique Steak Frites, Lobster Tail Ratatouille, French Onion Soup Gratinee, and Amish Chicken.

Lakeview

  • Cody's Public House

Cody’s in West Lakeview will bring the spirit of Mardi Gras to life with a festive lineup of events in March. From a Gumbo Cook-Off to a Fat Tuesday Party with a free buffet, Cody’s will serve up all the flavors and flair of New Orleans. 

Gumbo Cook-Off, Saturday, March 1 at 2 p.m.: Cody’s will host a New Orleans Style Gumbo Cook-off on Saturday, March 1 at 2 p.m. Three winners will receive a gift card of $150 for 1st place, $100 for 2nd place and $50 for 3rd place. Specials will include $6 Lagunitas, $10 Pimm’s Cup, $10 Hurricanes, $10 Sazeracs, a $10 French 75 and $30 Surfside buckets. To enter the cook-off, contestants should contact events@codyschicago.com by February 24.

Fat Tuesday Party, Tuesday, March 4: On Fat Tuesday, Cody’s will feature Mardi Gras-themed tunes all night along with a free New Orleans-style buffet provided by sister restaurant, The Graystone Tavern, at 7 p.m. with gumbo, jambalaya, rice, cornbread and more. Drink specials will include $6 Lagunitas, $10 Pimm’s Cup, $10 Sazeracs, $10 Hurricanes, a $10 French 75 and $30 Surfside buckets.

  • The Graystone Tavern

The Graystone Tavern, in Wrigleyville will celebrate Fat Tuesday starting at 5 p.m. Guests can choose from Big Easy flavors with specials like $1 Cajun Wings, $8 Creole Andouille Loaded Fries, $4 Soco shots, $5 Hurricanes, and $6 22-ounce Voodoo Ranger drafts. Graystone will also feature New Orleans-inspired music all night long. Guests can also use Graystone’s winterized, heated beer garden.   • aliveOne

aliveOne will have specials like $6 Abita Purple Haze beers on March 4th. Guests can start the celebration early with their half-price happy hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. featuring half-off everything (excluding shots). Party-goers can stick around for free music bingo beginning at 8 p.m.

In celebration of Mardi Gras, The Getaway in Lincoln Square will offer their namesake The Getaway cocktail on special for $12 all evening on Tuesday, March 4. Inspired by the classic Hurricane cocktail, the drink features Ron Zacapa 23 rum, Rhum Clément coconut liqueur, Tiki Lover's pineapple rum, Giffard apricot liqueur, lime juice, pineapple juice, orange juice, grenadine.

The Owl will pour $10 House Daiquiris all night to celebrate Fat Tuesday on March 4. Guests can kick off the holiday with a half-price happy hour from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. or end the evening with one of The Owl’s late night dance parties.

  • Daisies

This Fat Tuesday, celebrate with paczkis from Daisies’ Pastry Chef Leigh Omilinsky. They are dusted with powdered sugar and filled with your choice of vanilla cream or strawberry jam. Available by the half dozen for $24, order some paczkis for pickup on Fat Tuesday, 3/4, via Tock.

  • Untitled Supper Club

Untitled Supper Club is inviting guests to the return of their annual Fat Tuesday Celebration, beginning at 7pm. During the evening's festivities, guests are invited to celebrate the magic of Mardi Gras with costumed servers, a surfeit of purple, gold and green, burlesque, and The Magnificent Mile 2nd Line Band bringing the soul of New Orleans. Diners will feast on customary holiday cuisine with NOLA-style dishes and big easy drink specials. Space is extremely limited and will sell out quickly.   • Chicago Firehouse Restaurant

The Chicago Firehouse Restaurant's 8th Annual Mardi Gras "Fat Tuesday" Party is happening on March 4th from 5:30-10:00pm. For just $65, guests can savor a buffet, enjoy live jazz performances by the High-Hat Second Line, and immerse themselves in Mardi Gras festivities complete with beads and revelry! Carnivale is celebrating the holiday with "Carnival at Carnivale" on March 4th. Diners will be treated to Chef Garza's specials highlighting the cuisine of both New Orleans and Brazil for one-day only and will enjoy special performances from Samba Dancers, stilt walkers and jugglers. Entertainment is complimentary with a dinner reservation, available on Tock. 

Wicker Park and Bucktown

On Fat Tuesday, Easy Bar in Wicker Park will partner with New Belgian Brewing for a festive night. Easy Bar will give away complimentary slices of King Cake from Scafuri Bakery (while supplies last), and guests who find a baby in their King Cake will win New Belgium swag. Drink specials for the evening will include $4 beers, seltzers and ciders all night. Half-price happy hour will also be available from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Estelle’s, in Wicker Park, will host a late-night Fat Tuesday dance party with DJ Papa G spinning jams from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. Drink specials available all evening will include $6 Hurricane shots and $10 Hurricanes. Party-goers will also be invited to get decked out in festive beads that will be available while supplies last. 

  • Remedy

Mardi Gras party-goers who visit Remedy on Fat Tuesday will be offered half-price happy hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. along with specials like $8 house cocktails to keep the celebration going all night. Remedy’s seasonal cocktail selections include drinks like the Rose Quartz with Agua Magica Mezcal, pamplemousse, lime, and prickly pear syrup, the Mentatellu with Fernet Menta, Ketel One vodka, and Borghetti espresso liquor.

On Tuesday, March 4 a special Crown Royal sampling at 7:00 PM. Mardi Gras specials are available all “Party Gras” weekends (Thursday, February 27 - Tuesday, March 4) and include $10 Hurricanes, $6 Sierra Hazy Little Things, $7 Crown Royals, $10 Gumbos, $12 Cajun Chicken Sandwiches, and $12 Cajun Shrimp Tacos.

  • Wurst Behavior and Pierogi Kitchen

Polish restaurateurs Art Wnorowski and Gosia Pieniazek are helping Chicagoans get their paczki fix by serving them at two of their restaurants, including Wurst Behavior, the newly opened sausage house in Irving Park as well as Wicker Park eatery Pierogi Kitchen. Available from March 1st - 9th, Chef Art is serving two versions of the fluffy Polish delicacy at both of his restaurants, made in collaboration with his mother. The paczki offerings include a rose jam-filled paczki topped with a sweet orange glaze and candied oranges and a Dubai chocolate paczki topped with pistachios. Paczkis will be available for $3.95 each and are available for dine-in only on a first-come, first-served basis.
