Levain Bakery is opening their second Chicago location at 8:00am on Friday, September 15 and will be gifting free cookies and bakery swag bags to the first 100 customers that morning. The bakery is located at 408 North Clark Street, in the River North neighborhood, marking their second location in Chicago and thirteenth location nationwide.
“We fell in love fast with Chicago and are so excited to be able to serve more locals, as well as visitors to the city,” said Levain Bakery Founders Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald. “River North has such a great mix of residents, diners, and office workers. We hope to see people stop by for dessert after an amazing dinner, a midday work break, or before taking a stroll along the river.”
As always, Levain will be donating their first day’s proceeds to a local organization: Greater Chicago Food Depository, a non-profit who strives to end hunger by connecting their neighbors with healthy food and advancing solutions that address the root causes of hunger. At the end of each day, all leftover products will be donated to Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC), who re-distribute the baked goods to people experiencing food insecurity.
Both of Chicago’s Levain Bakeries will be open from 8am to 10pm, 7 days a week.
