The Pepper & Egg Sandwich is available at Portillo’s locations in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Wisconsin beginning Wednesday, March 2 and then on Fridays through April 15, the sandwich is made with seasoned scrambled eggs and Portillo’s home-cooked sweet peppers served on a toasted French bread.
In addition, Portillo’s also serves up a Breaded Whitefish Sandwich featuring a breaded wild caught whitefish filet on a brioche bun with American cheese, chopped lettuce, and tartar sauce.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is offering a Cajun Shrimp Wrap and Cajun Shrimp Salad for those looking for a fish sandwich alternative for Lent. The Cajun Shrimp Wrap is made with seasoned shrimp, dirty rice, creole sauce, cheddar cheese, romaine lettuce, tomato and green onions in a toasted wrap. The Cajun Shrimp Salad features seasoned shrimp, dirty ride, cheddar cheese, tomato and green onions, and served on a bed of romaine lettuce with creole dressing on the side.
