The Lagunitas Brewing Company have announced plans to move its Chicago brewing operations to Lagunitas’ original brew house in Petaluma, California by early August. The 30-year-old craft brewery will maintain operations of its Chicago warehouse, which is located adjacent to the Chicago brew house. Its Chicago TapRoom, located within its commercial brewery in the Douglas Park neighborhood, will close permanently.
The changes will impact 86 employees, some of whom will retain remote roles or relocate to Petaluma, California, while others will receive retention incentives to work through the transition as well as departure packages including support services and job-placement assistance.
“We are committed to managing this transition thoughtfully, smoothly and with deep respect for our valued Chicago Lagunitas employees,” says Sam Kennedy, a Lagunitas spokesperson.
