Looking for a job this Spring/Summer in the Downtown Chicago area? AIRE, a Downtown Chicago rooftop bar and lounge, is seeking to fill both seasonal full-time and seasonal part-time positions for the upcoming Spring/Summer. Located on the 24th floor of Hyatt Centric the Loop Chicago, 100 W. Monroe, AIRE is providing a wide variety of employment opportunities in everything from host positions to bartenders.
The job descriptions and requirements for the open positions can be found below:
· Barbacks are responsible for ensuring that the bar is fully stocked and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the bar and lounge areas. Barback candidates are expected to have previous work experience in the food industry, as well as the ability to lift, push, and carry a heavy amount of weight in a fast-paced environment. Barback candidates must be 21 years of age or older.
· Cooks are responsible for carefully preparing the food, ensuring food safety, checking pars for shift use, and taking the proper steps to control food waste, loss, and usage. Cook candidates are expected to have one year in the food industry, the ability to maintain clean culinary equipment, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
· Servers are responsible for greeting guests, providing helpful information on restaurant offerings, ensuring guests are happy and satisfied, readying the station before opening and closing shifts, completing scheduled assigned work, and pitching in to help the barback when needed. Server candidates are preferred to have a High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field, be of legal age and TIPS trained to serve alcoholic beverages, have excellent customer service skills, have the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal English, have the ability to accurately count cash and process transactions with computer systems, as well as have the ability to carry up to 50 pounds. Server candidates must be 21 years of age or older.
· Bartenders are responsible for providing exceptional service to guests, being fully informed on beverage and menu offerings, preparing drinks for cocktail service, having a passion for mixology, and ensuring a clean work environment. Bartender candidates are expected to have at least one year of bartending experience, communicate effectively in both written and verbal English, operate all bar equipment, have an awareness of all liquor laws and guidelines, and be able to carry up to 50 pounds. Bartender candidates must be 21 years of age or older.
