Italian Village Restaurants hosts a special Monsanto Wine Dinner on Tuesday, October 24 at 6:30 p.m., in honor of its 90th anniversary and history with the Italian wine. Over fifty years ago, second-generation owners Frank and Ray Capitanini were the first to import Monsanto wine from Italy, building the restaurants' Cellar in the Sky, now boasting more than 20,000 bottles of wine. The Capitanini family and Wine Director, Jared Gelband, are pleased to host the dinner at contemporary concept, Vivere, with acclaimed winemaker Laura Bianchi, owner of Castello di Monsanto.
The gathering showcases nine vintage wines from 1968 to 2012 of the world’s first single vineyard, Chianti Classico Riserva Il Poggio. The tasting is also paired with exquisite Italian fare from Vivere’s Executive Chef Ozzy Amelotti.
